We are dedicated to improving the quality of lives for individuals living with mental illness and their families through support, education and advocacy. We consider acts of stigma directed against people living with serious mental illness to be discrimination. Purpose

We advocate for inclusion and involvement within our diverse
communities, for affo

rdable and safe housing, for delivery of quality services, and for mutual respect and compassion for individuals living with mental illnesses. Support

Our purpose is to promote recovery, provide support, share
resources, and create hope. Education

NAMI Shasta County works to increase public awareness of mental illnesses as biologically based brain disorders, and to eliminate the stigma associated with mental illnesses. Advocacy

NAMI Shasta County is an active participant in legislative and state policy and local policymaking for mental health issues. Our advocacy efforts seek to end discrimination and improve community services such as access to treatment and medications
