Raining Cats n Dogs is a 501c3 nonprofit companion animal/pet rescue group serving Redding, Shasta County in Northern California and beyond. Our mission is to rescue homeless, abused and neglected cats and dogs by utilizing volunteers to rehabilitate, while fostering out of their homes until they are able to find a new responsible and permanent family. We rely solely on private donations from people just like you! Thank you!!

DID YOU KNOW Everyday 10,000 people are born in the US And everyday 70,000 puppies and kittens are born, that's 5500 per hour, or 2.1 millon per month As long as these birth rates exist, there will never be enough homes for all the animals. Please spay and neuter!

Miss Moon has been adopted!

Yes! Moon found a loving home and a job at the same time! In addition, she was adopted by the family that adopted her kitten several years ago. (Her kittens name was Aurora now Lya.)

The job side of this adoption is that Moon is now the Redding Veterinary clinic cat! She now spends all day around the people she loves and helping where she can. Working in a veterinary clinic can be quite stressful at times, and Moon is there happily helping to manage team stress. When anyone needs a break, Moon is more then happy to except pets. She will just sit with her people and purr the loudest purr you have ever heard. Moon talks to them with her tiny voice and they feel the stress just melt away.

She is a talker around the clinic and always has a lot to say…. Especially if she knows you have a treat to offer her! She can be quite bossy especially when it comes to food.

Moon is doing great when she isn’t working and at her new home with her main family as well. She loves being around her family, furry ones included. They have game night often and Moon is happy to sit and watch. Moons daughter Lya likes to sit in a box overlooking the game table. She always needs to be front and center for game night!

Congratulations to Miss Moon and her family at Redding Vet! We couldn’t have asked for a better outcome for her. She is such a special kitty and a great addition to Redding Veterinary and her new family.

We would like to thank Dr Townsell and her husband Jon who own Redding Veterinary Clinic. Raining Cats N Dogs has worked with both of them for many years. Their continued support of our little rescue has been greatly appreciate and valued. These amazing people and all the staff of Redding Veterinary are true animal lovers and care greatly about our beloved pets and all animals. It is very nice to work with people that genuinely care about each and every animal they come in contact with.
