Courage, Confidence, Character....

Hello, My name is Kris and I am the Membership Manager for Girl Scouts of Northern California, a chartered council of Girl Scouts of the USA. Based out of the retail storefront and business offices in Redding, CA, my job is pretty broad as I support many facets of Girl Scouts here in Northern California. I cover a geographically large area, spanning from Redding to the Oregon border. I recruit adults to be leaders and help support them as they learn the ropes, and I support seasoned leaders as their girls are always bridging up to new levels and planning their next grand adventure!! I also visit local schools, ramping up excitement and sharing Girl Scouts with girls of all ages... Chances are if your reading this I’ve met your girl, and she's excited to be a Girl Scout!!

I bit about me personally. I am a Lifetime Member and consider myself a green-blood. (It’s the term used to describe a member who is deeply dedicated and is ‘in it for life.’) I grew up as a Girl Scout in the Sacramento area and my mom was my leader for many years. My fondest memories were made at Camporees in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. As I got older we moved north and I attended Enterprise High School in Redding, CA and then went to college at Chico State to become a school teacher, but I never stopped my love for camping and being a camp counselor. I volunteered many summers and made awesome memories in my early adulthood. After marrying my high school sweetheart and starting my own business as a photographer, and starting a family, I was so excited to have been blessed with two daughters. I knew as soon as my first daughter turned five I’d be back in Girl Scouts. My friend and I stared our Daisy troop in 2007, and as I write this those girls, and my friend and I, are STILL doing this amazing adventure in Scouting. My second daughter has also enjoyed Girl Scouts since she was five and you’ll see me out at Girl Scout functions with my (now) high school aged daughters, just being a mom. Because I was a volunteer and still am a Girl Scout, I have a unique position to see all sides of Scouting as a parent, a troop mom and Council Staff member. You could say I have the best of all worlds !!
