The North State Cancer League was formed in 1987 in Redding, CA. Each year, the league hosts one large event with the purpose of bringing community members together at a fun event that raises money for local cancer causes. The funds are used to benefit North State Cancer patients and their families. Since its inception we have raised over $3,125,000.00 to aid in the fight against cancer. While ope
rating under the umbrella of the American Cancer Society we contributed all of the funds raised for distribution through the American Cancer Society. Now, all of the funds raised stay in the North State and are controlled and distributed through the North State Cancer League. Through these funds, the North State Cancer League has contributed to the purchase of a bronchoscope (a high-tech fiber-optic cable that is passed into the windpipe in order to view the bronchi, for the purpose of finding lung disorders), custom lounge chairs used by chemotherapy patients while receiving treatment, a blood cell counter (used to find blood cancers), and gas cards for transportation to and from treatments (gas card funds are provided through a special fund administered by Mercy Foundation North). In addition, funding has been provided to Wings of Angels, Think Pink, and Camp Okizu. For information about contributing to or joining the North State Cancer League, please message us and a member will respond as soon as possible.
