Oasis TNR Mission is almost done! This Torti is the 2nd to last cat. There’s one more who is friendly, that we haven’t seen in a long time. There were also kittens early on, but we think the mom moved them under the house. A colleague in rescue is going to crawl under there to see if that’s where they’re hiding. Overall, 15 cats have been TNRed at this site.

Update: FRANKIE

Frankie is doing great! We took her and her siblings in from the red bluff colony we’re working on. Two of them were so sick they passed away. But Frankie’s a survivor! She’s small for her age, but otherwise eating well and is very playful.

Chip and Dale had a good vet appointment last week. Their eyes are responding very well to treatment, and show significantly less inflammation. Both are still blind. Next step is for them to see an ophthalmologist.

Reminiscing of the early days, really just a few years ago. I wanted to say thank you to Laurie if it wasn’t us coming together to collaborate on this mission for the cats of the forest a dream of mine would quite possibly never have come to pass. Northstate Cat Coalition was born from a great need for radical rescues. Love you Laurie❤️ For the community, for the cats.

VET UPDATE: Ruby

Great news, this girl survived the car engine starting that killed all her siblings, completely unscathed! The vet says she has nothing broken and isn’t in pain. We are relieved.

The bulging eye is from a viral infection and she said Ruby needs to get a little older and a little stronger before surgery to take that eye out. She prescribed an antibiotic and more medicated eye drops.

We will do what we can for the eye and especially the other one. Vet said there’s a possibility that eye may be saved. Only time will tell.

Thank you to those NCC Villagers who donated to help pay for Ruby’s vet visit, even thought we didn’t ask. You are so appreciated!

Get ready it’s coming up, please remain courteous to folks who are attending the event as well as the staff at Haven‘s clinic. Also, please have an alternate plan in case you don’t secure one of the 50 spots.

🐱🎉 FREE Feral Fiesta Day This Thursday! 🐱🎉

Bring your neighborhood feral cat to our Veterinary Hospital Thursday morning for Feral Fiesta Day! We will spay or neuter up to 50 cats.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of an anonymous donor, this month’s Feral Fiesta is completely FREE—no vouchers required!

Please remember this is for stray, non-pets ONLY. All cats receive an ear tip. Cats MUST be in a wire cat trap, —the minimum size is 10” wide by 12” tall, and the trap must be in safe working order.

We are deeply grateful to the anonymous donor who made it possible to provide these services at no cost to our community this month!

We also offer low-cost TNR spay & neuter services for up to 7 feral cats per day. Offered Monday through Thursday on a first come first serve basis starting at 7:15 AM. $45 per cat without vouchers. Full and partial vouchers are limited but currently available.

Feeding bans simply do not work. A good managed TNR program does. Please use your voice to support cats in need in those who care about them in communities far and wide.

Alley Cat Allies strongly opposes a feeding ban targeting community cats in Ripon, California ‼️

If it passes, community cat caregivers could be issued a $100 fine simply for providing care. We have reached out to the City of Ripon to offer our support for a better way forward: TNR.

Feeding bans do not work:

🔴 Cutting off access to food sources that cats have become accustomed to is cruel and causes suffering.
🔴 The cats will not simply go away. They are highly bonded to their outdoor homes. Instead, they roam further and seek out other sources of food.
🔴 People will be penalized for their compassion and discouraged from carrying out TNR, which relies on organized feeding.

TNR is the only humane and effective approach to stabilizing community cat populations. That's what Ripon officials, and officials worldwide, need to know.
