Mission Red Bluff Roundup has achieved significant success so far, with efforts focused on supporting spay and neuter for a small community of cats and their caregivers, notably the area where Precious came from as well as several of our recent rescues.

This mission has currently successfully neutered one male cat and spayed two females, with two additional females scheduled for surgery early next week. The mission will persist in its endeavors as long as possible, driven by the goal of preventing further kitten births and reducing unnecessary deaths.

The considerable distance between Redding and Red Bluff poses logistical challenges, particularly given the rising gas prices. One dedicated volunteer has stepped forward to undertake the transportation for this critical mission. Contributions, whether financial or in the form of transportation assistance for the cats, would greatly support the continuation of this mission.

Remember, baby Fuego? Well, here he is and just look at what a big hunk he has become. His new family adores him more everyday😻a triumphant story of rags to riches. He hit the jackpot landing himself a gold star loving home. We continue to be over the moon happy for his new life with every beautiful update.

Bring your neighborhood feral cat to our Veterinary Hospital on Thursday morning for Feral Fiesta Day! We will spay or neuter up to 50 cats.
✨ The June clinic is FREE thanks to the generosity of Northstate Cat Coalition and Raining Cats N Dogs We are so grateful for their support in making this possible. ✨
Please remember this is for stray, non-pets ONLY. All cats receive an ear tip. Cats MUST be in a wire cat trap, —the minimum size is 10” wide by 12” tall, and the trap must be in safe working order.
We also offer low-cost TNR spay & neuter services for up to 7 feral cats per day. Offered Monday through Thursday on a first come first serve basis starting at 7:15 AM. $45 per cat without vouchers. Full and partial vouchers are limited but currently available.

🙀 Disciplining cats with yelling, sq**rt bottles, or physical punishment can:

🚩 Increase fear and stress
🚩 Lead to more unwanted behaviors
🚩 Damage your bond with your cat
🚩 Make it harder for your cat to learn new habits

Instead of punishment, change your behavior and use positive reinforcement.

🌟 We have new kittens!

Introducing Poppy (orange), Pistachio (black) and Opie (brown tabby).

A few days ago we received a call from behind the tire shop, where Perelli was found, saying that a new mom was in the area and had abandoned two of her sick 3 week old kittens.

Sarah raced over there and brought them back home, to be in our warm kitten incubator. With eye antibiotics they immediately started doing better (the orange one was already getting ulcers in his eyes). They are already eating a “slurry” of kitten milk replacement and wet food. They are both good eaters and have actually already graduated out of the incubator to a larger enclosure.

Opie came to us today, and his story is very sad. His feral mom had a kitten stuck in breech while giving birth and we think she had been dealing with this for days. Thank goodness her caretakers noticed something was wrong with her.

Laura, our Board Secretary, rushed to Red Bluff and returned with mom cat and a tiny kitten. Haven Humane got her in, but it was too late for mama. Even though it broke our hearts, the most compassionate thing we could do was let her go.

Opie is warm in our kitten incubator and has taken to the bottle and kitten milk replacement right away. We know is he missing his mama so we are cuddling him a lot and have a stuffed animal with a heartbeat so keep him company. He appears healthy and is strong.

We are working on TNR programs at both locations, if you’re interested in helping with early morning transport, we sure could use your help.

To clarify, Haven Humane Society's Feral Fiesta Clinic will accept up to 5 cats per person and a total of 50 cats for spay and neuter procedures on the event day.

The Princess Memorial clinic day has a limit of 3 cats per person and will spay or neuter a total of 40 cats.

Regular TNR schedule is Monday-Thursday, you can take in 2 per person with a total of 7 per day.
