Calling all adventurous trail runners!

Jackalope Lope registration prices increase August 31st, so get those registrations in now and save yourself a few bucks!

This year is bound to have no shortage of antics, prizes, creek crossings, questionable decisions, and good old-fashioned type 2 fun.

We’re amping up the aid stations based on feedback from last year, and when all those miles are behind you, the finish line will be waiting on the sands of Brandy Creek.

Still on the fence? Don’t have anyone to train with you? We’ve got you. We started both a Strava Club and Facebook Event where you can connect with other Jackalope-curious trail folks, find training partners, and maybe even make some new trail friends along the way.

And the best part: you don’t have to take home a podium spot to make an impact.

The Jackalope is a fundraiser on the trails, FOR the trails. Your registration helps fund the work we do all year long to maintain, plan, and build the trail experiences that keep all of us healthy, happy, and maybe just a little more sane.

Here we go! 🚲 Late to the game, but we’re here! 😬This year we challenge you to a little friendly competition against some of the amazing larger organizations South of us. Let’s show California how small but mighty Redding is by becoming the top supporter of this campaign!

We’ve teamed up with California Mountain Biking Coalition & Ibis Cycles once again for the ultimate win-win: fund your local trails and get a chance to win a brand-new Ibis bike of your choice!

Every $5 you donate equals one entry to win.

What makes this team-up awesome? We don’t have to manage it, buy the bike or beg for swag donations, which allows us to focus on the fun part: planning, maintaining, and building trails! 75% of your donation goes directly to supporting that cause and 25% towards the other dirty work of hitting the pavement on California Mountain Biking Coalition’s advocacy end. The result? 100% investment in better trail experiences in California!

Giveaway closes on Sep 26. Check out our official giveaway page for more info and to enter to win. https://www.reddingtrailalliance.org/camtb-dream-bike-giveaway

We have an incredible opportunity to show the world what kind of community Redding really is.

In just 30 days, on August 16th, thousands of athletes and their families will travel here for IRONMAN 70.3 Northern California. They'll remember the beautiful course, the Sacramento River, and the incredible scenery—but what they'll remember most is the people.

As a community, we don't control the weather. We don't control the race course. We don't control how fast the athletes swim, bike, or run. What we do control is the experience they have while they're here.

A smiling volunteer handing out water. Someone cheering them on when they're struggling. A friendly face answering a question or helping them find their way. Those are the moments that make athletes fall in love with a race, and with the community that hosts it.

Right now, 761 amazing volunteers have already stepped up. That's something our community should be proud of!

But we still have 891 volunteer shifts to fill before race weekend.

If you've been thinking about helping, now is the time. Grab a friend, bring your family, or recruit your coworkers. Very few tasks require any special skills, they just need a willing volunteer. So, no matter what job you sign up for you'll help create an unforgettable experience for athletes from around the world (that's right, we currently have athletes from 11 different countries signed up!).

Let's show everyone why Redding is such a special place.

Sign up today and help us welcome the world to our hometown!

These things don’t happen magically on their own! Huge thanks to the City and organizations like Beautify Shasta, as well as the incognito volunteers that are working hard to get things in top shape for this impactful event! And for those of you on our volunteer email list - check your inbox and spam folder! We’re recruiting volunteers to help out on the big day!

Heads up, Redding trail users!

If you're out enjoying Redding's trail system over the next few weeks, you may notice maintenance crews hard at work. In preparation for the IRONMAN 70.3 Northern California race on Sunday, August 16, the City of Redding Parks Division will be making improvements and performing maintenance along portions of the race course.

More than 1,500 athletes from around the world will soon be swimming in our lakes, cycling on our roads, and running on our trails. We're proud to showcase Redding and want to ensure our parks and trails are ready to welcome both athletes and spectators.

As work is completed, you may experience short-term trail closures or minor delays. Please watch for posted signage and follow any temporary detours.
And if you see maintenance crews along the trail, know this: you're on a stretch of trail that will soon challenge some of the toughest athletes in the world. We're excited to show them what Redding has to offer.

Thank you for your patience as we help get Redding race-ready!
