It doesn’t matter what month our races are in. We love to see costumes! 😍 And we’ll have a special prize this weekend for someone who decides to take on Whiskeytown's elevation in style.

How to participate: take a photo of yourself in front of the start line with your bib # showing BEFORE you start your race and text it to the number provided (on a sign next to the starting line).

Our judges will deliberate while you’re out navigating the course. Winner will be announced after the awards.

Rules: you must keep all elements of your costume with you, so plan carefully and make sure nothing will impede your ability to safely run your course.

Online registration closes at TONIGHT at 11:59pm. After that your last opportunity to register will be in person during packet pickup at Fall River Brewing Co. tomorrow, 10/16/26 from 4-7pm.

Since 2026 has flown by and 2027 seems just around the corner, what better time to finally complete 2025's annual report.

Want to see what we did for the trails in 2025? Want to hear about some huge grant wins we had (we didn't include the even bigger losses due to the lack of space). 📢 JACKALOPE LOPE PSA:

For those out hitting the Jackalope Lope courses - you may encounter some brush and trees - but be assured these will be addressed prior to race day!

We’ve said it before, but this area is very problematic due to being in a fire scar and the soil conditions. It doesn’t take much for dead trees to fall and because there is no longer a thick canopy, brush grows faster than a pre-teen growth spurt!

We are keeping in communication with Whiskeytown Park about priority trail issues and are especially appreciative of the time and attention they give this despite having limited staffing.

So, if you’re out for a training run and encounter a little extra vegetation or an unexpected hurdle, consider it bonus strength, agility, and resilience training.

Race-day trails will be ready for you. Until then… embrace the adventure. 👊

Calling all Jackalopers!

There will be a course preview run THIS SATURDAY with none other than our adventure-loving Race Director!

We’ll be tackling the section from Shasta Mine to Kanaka Peak, so come ready for:

⛰️ About 9.5 miles
📈 Roughly 2,200 feet of elevation gain

While this is a no-drop run, please come prepared to be self-sufficient. Bring plenty of water and food, and have some familiarity with the route—or at least have a digital or paper version of the route with you.

⏰ 8:00am this Saturday

Over five years ago, all of the organizations listed on this sign came together to reopen one of Redding’s most beloved trails.

The sign acknowledging their collaborative effort was finally installed on the bridge abutment railing. We often tell people how long things can take in the trail building world. Usually this is due to government regulations and funding... We can’t blame our tardiness with this sign installation on either of those things, this one is totally on us.

Fortunately, everyone listed on this sign cares more about a thriving trail system for their community than they do recognition on a plaque and we are confident they will continue to support our efforts!

🚨Bigfoot challenge route 🚨

The SWEAT Group Run on Tuesday evening 05/12/26 is a trail run, Hornbeck - FB Falls. We’ll meet at 5:45 pm and start the run at 6:00 pm. The distance will be just over 5 miles. All running levels are welcome and no one is dropped. Please ensure that you are comfortable running the full distance (even if at a slower pace) to help keep the group together.
