Redding Grange No. 15 - Connecticut Welcome to the official page of the newly re-organized Redding Grange in Connecticut! Grange membership is non-exclusive.

NOTE: Our mailing address is:
Redding Grange
PO Box 177
Redding Ridge, CT 06876

Organized April 6, 1875, reorganized on March 7, 1906 and again on June 26, 1939, Redding Grange has met the needs of their community in various capacities throughout the years. Our organization has constantly evolved to be of service to our local area, its families and our neighbors. Today, Redding Grange is in th

e process of reorganizing once again - with refreshed plans and a vision of returning our historic Redding Grange to it's former glory. Redding Grange has been an active participant in a myriad of historical community service programs, including:

-- Hosting an Annual Grange Fair and a Fall Harvest Fair

-- Purchasing Dictionaries for Third Graders at Redding Elementary School (as part of The Dictionary Project)

-- Food Collections and other community service projects that benefit the Dorothy Day House, Helping Hands, local nursing homes, animal rescues and more.

-- Working with Connecticut Foster Care and the American School for the Deaf

And so much more! Redding Grange is dedicated to community service and bringing the people of our town together. As one of the oldest organizations in the United States, the Grange means different things to different people, with the common thread of camaraderie and a sense of contributing to the community. Members are not limited by age, gender, culture, race or faith. In the ever changing community, the Granges across the State of Connecticut provide diverse services.

“Neither rain, nor sleet, nor snow…” will stop the postman - or The Redding Memorial Day Parade!!! Thank you to all who came out, participated, and generally helped make it a fabulous hometown event. Our inaugural float was a hit! Next Year’s Redding Grange Float is already in planning- and we hear that other organizations will rise to the call next year and make one, too!

Special thanks to Cecilia and Ed Staunton, Mike and Linda Mitchell, Jan Stranik, Victor de Masi, Roanna Metowski, Alice Smith, our intrepid tractor guys-Bill Hill and Jim Caraluzzi- our becostumed kids, the Durbin Family for the hay loan, Redding Nursery for the flower loan, Dave Vecchia for the flatbed, Harmony Grange for the wood donation, The Selectman’s Office, and of course, Hank Sanford….his family started the parade way back when. We are honored to participate in it.

An epic Open Mic night in the books!!! Thanks to all that came out to play-and to listen. Your energy and support helps keep Redding Grange alive for generations to come. Special thanks to our Redding Grange Musician - the one and only Scott Smith! (It helps that he is a professional musician with North County Band- how lucky are we!?!?! )
Thanks to our refreshment QUEEN! -Karen Staff. John Talley, no one sets the stage for a special event better than YOU!! ( PS- Joe Brandt, those cookies are exceptional- thank you for baking.)

See you all in the Fall!

Redding Grange would like to thank the amazing family behind Fairfield County Junk Removal for their help (and generosity!) in moving a defunct piano. Their timeliness, professionalism and efforts to 'upcycle' a portion of the piano were SO appreciated!!! Thank you for helping us!! 10 out 10 recommended!

Hello Grangers and friends -
For those who may not have heard, Redding Grange is entering a float into the Memorial Day parade this year! Talk about old-timey fun!! Putting the float together is going to be hunt and peck, as we have no money - ha - but we hope we can get by with a little help from our friends, and the local community.

At this time, those working on the float have a wishlist of the following wood needed for the frame (it's a tall order, but putting it out into the universe)

Quantity of Six: 2x4's that are 12' in length
Quantity of Fourteen: 2x4's that are 8' in length
Quantity of Four: 2x4's that are 4' in length (used as posts)
Wood can be cut down by the team if exact sizes are not available

It would be great to have the material by 4/18.
Let us know if you have a lead! Material can be dropped at the Grange Hall at 399 Newtown Turnpike

Please spread the word, and thank you!
Thank you!
