Another successful Pre-Fall Workbee was completed on Saturday August 13, 2022 (plus numerous prep days in advance). We managed to weedwhip the picnic shelter area, haul materials up, make some repairs to control structures caused by flooding, repair the retaining wall along the cart, backfill washouts with crushed rock, and begin the slow water control process in preparation for September migrations. Much of these annual activities have been supported by the same volunteers for decades, yes decades, in addition to many others throughout the years. Take a look at some other old pictures from around 1988. You’ll see some friendly faces. Thanks again to all the members for continued support of the organization.
Oh, and if you hadn’t noticed a gigantic old maple tree fell over the Pull Over entrance a couple weeks back. That too had been addressed by hard working members, allowing both boat and water to again get in, and out, of the “Old Cannon”. It was NOT an easy task.
Thanks!
