Red Wing Area Women's Network We meet from September through May on the second Wednesday of every month. There are no memberships or dues.

Since 1978 the Red Wing Area Women’s Network has created a welcoming space for women to learn, share and support one another-building confidence, connection and community along the way. October 14, our session “Women in Blue Serving You!“ features Kyley Lindholm, Patrol Sergeant and Kim Lenz, Sergeant Officer for the Red Wing Police Department. They will share their journeys into law enforcement, what inspired them to pursue the profession, and the experiences that have shaped their careers.

Learn about the challenges and rewards of
police work, what a typical day on the job
looks like, and how they balance the
demands of public service with family life.
Kyley and Kim will also offer insight into the
growing role of women in law and the importance of leadership, teamwork, and community service.

There is no cost to attend this session, unless you want lunch—then it’s $20. This session will be held in Room 101 at Minnesota State College Southeast, Noon-1PM, Wednesday, October 14. Call Community Education at 651-385-4565 or register online at Red Wing Community Education.

We had a whopping crowd of 39 attendees at our kick-off session with Shelley Orr! Shelley covered so many great topics like do you need insurance, best ways to book flights, how do you pack shoes, how do international power outlets work, what are packing cubes, what about money in foreign countries, along with a host of many other great topics! She also brought along several show and tell items of products and tricks she has found very helpful with her trips! There were lots of questions and conversations regarding everything related to travel! Thank you Shelley for sharing your time and expertise with all of us!

We’re kicking off our new season of Red Wing Area Women's Network on September 9! We’ve already got a lot of great programs lined up. We are a group of women that join together the second Wednesday of each month (September-May). Our mission is simple…Since 1978, the Red Wing Area Women’s Network has created a welcoming space for women to learn, share and support one another – building confidence, connection and community along the way. There is no membership required! The only cost is $20 for your lunch if you choose to have one. We do ask you to register for sessions via Community Education so we have enough room. Give us a try and invite your friends!

Our first program is Travel Tips and Tricks with Shelley Orr on September 9. Travel has never been more accessible, but

Our May 13 session was on a beautiful day and featured our local Master Gardeners Katie Hardyman Morem, Kay Kuhlman and Terry Yockey. We met at Colvill Park and toured the Discovery Garden. Our outdoor picnic was delicious and it was so fun exploring and learning about all the plants and how to become a Master Gardener.

This wraps up our season for this year’s Women’s Network. Our next season will begin September 9. Remember, there is no fee to join this group and our goal is to connect women and learn about things in our community. Watch our page for more details. Kenzi Reuter presented information about Hope and Harbor to Women’s Network. Not only does Hope and Harbor provide overnight shelter during the winter months, but this year they added Next Step, a daytime program. This day program is available to anyone in the community that needs help or a warm place to shelter from the cold and/or grab a hot lunch and is located in the basement of Christ Episcopal Church. Clothing, food and counselors are available to assist with rental leases, job applications, budgeting and other life activities.

In addition, Hope & Harbor administers The Community Care Fund (CCF) which is designed to provide short-term, one-time financial assistance to individuals and families facing a temporary crisis. CCF exists to help remove immediate barriers and stabilize people so they can take the next step toward long-term security and independence.

Kenzi also talked about her career journey and her dreams for the future of Hope & Harbor.

And to top off a great day, a delicious salad bar lunch from Pic Nicks was enjoyed by all!Thank you Kenzi for sharing this great information!
