As Minnesota’s first county historical society, the Goodhue County Historical Society was chartered in 1869. Our facility features over a dozen exhibit spaces, a full-service research library, educational programs, and gift shop.

History Detectives of all ages are getting into our summer scavenger hunt! These young at heart sleuths even brought their own magnifying glass!

The hunt is on through next Saturday, August 29th! Collect at least 3 stamps from 5 local museums and receive a small prize! Plus, enter your name in our drawing for 2 free tickets to any upcoming show at the Sheldon Theatre!

Need to make a game plan for this weekend? We can help!

-Friday: Visit GCHS or Kenyon Area Historical Society at the Gunderson House during Rose Fest!

-Saturday: Visit GCHS, Kenyon Area Historical Society during Rose Fest, or the Zumbrota Area History Center!

-Sunday: Visit the Goodhue Area History Museum

-Monday: Visit Pine Island Area Historical Society

-Next week: visit GCHS Tuesday through Saturday or the Goodhue Area Historical Society on Thursday!

It was a busy week at the Goodhue County Fair last week! Over 3 days in the schoolhouse, 745 people stopped in to visit and join in on activities. We made farm animal hand puppets and wind sock crafts, played Bingo and trivia, dug for fossils, played historic games, and more! A special thank you to volunteers who joined us from the Zumbrota Area History Center and Pine Island Area Historical Society! Until next year!

We are down to the final 2 weeks of our History Detective scavenger hunt! If kids collect at least 3 stamps, they are eligible for a prize and drawing entry for our grand prize: 2 free tickets to any upcoming Sheldon Theatre show!

Looking for something to do this weekend? Pick up a booklet at any participating museum & let's collect some stamps!
