As Minnesota’s first county historical society, the Goodhue County Historical Society was chartered in 1869. Our facility features over a dozen exhibit spaces, a full-service research library, educational programs, and gift shop.

The rain didn't stop us from having a great time yesterday at Red Wing Downtown Main Street's Late Night Thursday! 146 Trick or Treaters visited us inside the Sheldon Theatre of Performing Arts! We played pumpkin ring toss, bean bag toss, and "roll a monster." The kids rolled a dice and added arms, legs, horns, etc. to their monster based on the dice. Happy Halloween to all who celebrate! 🎃👻

A little rain won't stop our fun tonight! It's Late Night Thursday with Red Wing Downtown Main Street and the Sheldon Theatre of Performing Arts! Join GCHS inside the Sheldon Theatre's lobby for fun games from 4 PM-6 PM! Then stick around for the 6:30 PM showing of Casper!

Happy Halloween from GCHS! 🎃👻We had a great time celebrating spooky season at our Free Family Fun Day on Saturday! 88 visitors joined in on the fun as they raced spiders with straws, played a pumpkin ring toss game, and made their own bubbling cauldrons. Plus we had a scavenger hunt, temporary tattoos, and story time!

Join us next month to learn about the history of pie!

It's the moment you've all been waiting for... Tickets are on sale now for the second GCHS Escape Room: Artifacts & Ashes! Reserve an hour-long time slot for groups of 2-6 people. Tickets are $25 each and can be purchased at the museum's front desk or via phone at 651-388-6024. At least one ticket must be purchased in advance in order to reserve your time slot.
