RED WING - Demolition began last week on the former Central Research Laboratories building on MN Highway 19.
The city acquired the property from the Red Wing Port Authority in 2014. Prior to that, the port authority had purchased the property from Central Research Laboratories in 2007.
City staff estimated that demolition and environmental remediation will cost $232,000, with annual payments of around $20,000 — accounting for interest — starting in 2028 on the 15-year loan.
