This weekend, something special happened at the Red Wing home tournament.
The RW 10U A team earned their first two wins together.
But the scoreboard only tells part of the story.
Many of these boys came into the season as first-time players, learning not only how to play the game, but what it means to be part of a team. They arrived with different levels of experience, but they all shared something important; a willingness to learn, work hard and never give up.
Over the month, we’ve watched them grow. We’ve seen extra effort at practice, encouragement in the dugout, determination after mistakes and teammates lifting each other up when things got tough. We’ve watched friendships form and confidence build.
This weekend, it all came together.
The hits, the catches, the hustle, the cheers from the dugout and the smiles on their faces weren’t just about winning games. They were the result of countless moments of hard work and believing in one another.
At Red Wing Baseball, our motto is GRIT.
GRIT is showing up when something is hard.
GRIT is learning from failure and trying again.
GRIT is putting the team before yourself.
GRIT is believing in each other.
And this weekend, these boys showed us exactly what GRIT looks like.
The wins were exciting. The memories will last forever. But what makes us most proud is the character these young athletes are building and the love they are developing for this game.
