After years of inquiries and requests we brought back the C&N Logo hat!

In 2017, Trevor created a small run of embroidered trucker hats for the 2018 staff season that ended up being the only run of that style. The logo is a simulacrum of early 1900s railroad logos as the Cimarron & Northwestern never had one as such!

Many people have inquired about a new run of those hats and we have (hopefully) a solution to the problem. While the embroidering is no longer viable to the detail of the logo, we have uploaded the logo to Teepublic where you can help support Trevor's logo in an array of products if it so suits your fancy!

The hat includes a trucker or baseball version in navy blue as that was the original color Trevor chose!

If you end up buying something, please tag us so we can share it!

This is likely our best find yet as far as getting a better idea of how ticketing worked on the Cimarron & Northwestern. Previously we believed they used the green round trip pass as the only car carrying passengers was Caboose 2 seen in every consist photo. Last week I found an odd variant: this yellow pass with an attached return marked as First Class passage for Independence Day 1911.

I sent the seller a crazy offer since the goal is to acquire and loan these passes for public display and he took it. Consulting with Tucker, we believe this pass was used on special runs: this one being the 4th of July right around the time the spur to Ring would have opened. Interestingly enough the pass was never used as others in our collection have hole punches or do not include the returning pass indicating this ticket was purchased and never used.

This is an incredible find not only because it was unused but gives us more insight into how passenger service looked on a railroad meant only for logging. All of our finds will hopefully be included in a revised edition of the book when we feel we have enough information to update the current book:

A kind thank you to Harold and the team at the National Scouting Museum allowing us to participate in their excellent Artifact of the Week series!

(Trevor dictating) Last week Tucker and I got to finally explore Ring, New Mexico in the Valle Vidal of the Carson National Forest.

This visit was my first time being in the area with only context for area facilitated withphoto acquisitions in Pride & Glory from the Old Mill thanks to Gene Lamm. Those photos showed topography we could trace in potentially aiding the Forest Service with preserving the site.

The only thing that is very prominent is the remains of the saw mill. The 2015 flood washed out a lot of the railbed so tracing the area was mainly off of the peaks between Mt. Baldy and Mt. Costilla. I overlayed some of my photos on top of one of the Old Mill images and was astonished by the result:
