Today we recognize Juneteenth, a day that commemorates the end of slavery in the United States and celebrates freedom, resilience, and progress.

Observed annually on June 19, Juneteenth marks the day in 1865 when news of emancipation finally reached enslaved people in Galveston, Texas—more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was issued. This important day serves as a reminder of our nation’s history and the continued importance of unity, education, and opportunity for all.

As we reflect on the significance of Juneteenth, we wish our Hawk families a meaningful day of remembrance and celebration.

Great opportunities at the Red Oak Public Library!

It's the 2nd week of June and there's still lots of Summer fun to be had! The Perot Museum is visiting this Thursday and they're bringing their Tech Truck and setting up lots of S.T.E.A.M stations!

Teens, join us this Tuesday for Iced Summer Lattes, a nice and cool treat to combat the Texas heat.
