Six Red Lodge Ski Patrol members spent the day at Antelope Butte yesterday learning Avalanche fundamentals...transceiver science, hasty search, probing, companion rescue, snow pits, and capped off with a full mountain scenario working alongside Big Horn County Search and Rescue and Sheridan Area Search and Rescue. Big thanks to Marcus, Adam, and Antelope Butte Ski Patrol for a great day of friendship, grilled chicken, and a very well organized event on fresh snow!

Can't see you down there through the smoke from Billings, but with September here we're looking forward to another season at Red Lodge Mountain!

In preparation for the season, we have eight new patrol candidates beginning the Outdoor Emergency Care class this weekend. They have already begun online didactic training and now we'll get together in the classroom to practice skills such as bleeding control, CPR, splinting, medical emergencies and much more.

Thanks to the tremendous support at our fundraiser, we will be purchasing new medical and rescue equipment as well as sending patrollers to advanced rescue courses.
