Action shots from the 6th Annual Youth Spirit Run!
This Youth Spirit Run takes place on the Red Lake Reservation in Minnesota and is hosted by the Red Lake Nation Youth Council, a group of Youth from ages 14-24 years old.
The run consists of running through each of the Red Lake Nation Districts, starting off in Little Rock (Gaa-asiniinsikaag), Red Lake (Ogaakaaning), Redby (Madaabiimong) and into Ponemah (Obaashiing) for the Obaashiing Labor Day Powwow.
Approximately 50+ participants (Ages 5-60) for this year’s run, we opened up the event with group exercises, and an opening prayer. Starting at 10:45pm and reaching our final destination, Obashiing Powwow Grounds at 6:45pm. The group took two 1hr breaks in Redby and at the Cut-Off area.
We proudly call it a wrap for this year’s Youth Spirit Run, it is always a heartwarming event to see everyone come out. Until next year!
