Clarence Willard Hatfield, 84 of Newtown WV, passed away peacefully on March 3, 2026, in Manchester, TN. Clarence was born in Newtown, WV on August 2, 1941.
At the age of eighteen he moved to Nashville to study to be a diesel mechanic and then went on to be a supervisor and Superintendent over the coal cleaning and preparation of Massey Coal Mines. He was a son of Neva (King) Hatfield and Dutch Hatfield. He was of Baptist Faith. He was a member of Beni-Kedem Shrine Temple and Brother of the Hughs Boyd #119 Lodge in Matewan, WV. Clarence Hatfield was a beloved husband and father who loved his family and unwavering kindness to all his neighbors. He was honest, funny, and everyone who knew him loved him.
Clarence is preceded in death by his parents Neva (King) Hatfield and Dutch Hatfield, by his loving wife Lillian Sue Hatfield, two daughter’s, Elisabeth “Lisa” Shirl Lykins (Chris) and Jennifer Nicole Hatfield, and two brothers, Thomas Hatfield (Bookie) and Edward Hatfield (Susan)
Clarence is survived by two sons; CW Hatfield (Christina) of Lexington, KY and Joe Hatfield (Kim) of Bell Buckle, TN, one brother, Wetzel Hatfield (Ginger) of Dayton, Ohio.
He has seven grandchildren, Kayla Smith, Kyle Smith (Karen), Joshua Hatfield (Sam), Cameron Hatfield (Emily), Lauren Hatfield, Maddie Hatfield, and Millie Hatfield, and he is survived by eight great-grandchildren.

The family will begin receiving friends in the Chambers Funeral Services Chapel, 1025 WV-49, Matewan, WV on Friday, March 6, 2026, with visitation from 6 p.m.- 9 p.m.
Honoring Services will be held in the Chambers chapel on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Bill Mosley officiating.
Burial will then follow in the Mountain View Memory Gardens of 119 N. Mountain View Lane, Huddy, Ky. 41535, with Joshua Hatfield, Cameron Hatfield, Jake Hatfield, Chris Lykins, Kyle Smith, and Eric Blankenship serving as pallbearers.
