EMERGENCY ‼️ Because nothing can ever be simple, we just got Beck’s labs back only to find out it doesn’t necessarily look like FIP, but it does look like her kidneys are shutting down. This is an emergency and we are rushing her back to ACVH right now to have her hospitalized. We don’t know why this is happening and she is going to need even more diagnostics while she is staying at the vet. Even though our vet partners are amazing and wonderful and understanding this is still going to cost so much more than we can afford right now, and we really need your help. PLEASE donate if you can, anything helps!!! Please help us save Beck:(

Hi everyone, sorry for the lack of posting/updates. I’ve been dealing with an incredible amount of insane s**t happening in my personal life, and on top of it we now have yet another suspected FIP case. Beck, who is from the same in**ed colony as all the other cases we’ve had, has developed symptoms over the last couple weeks. We are still awaiting her lab results, but in the meantime I have already started her on medication. This is a huge expense we can barely afford right now since our inactivity has resulted in a suspense of support, which is my own fault, but as I said I have not had the time or energy for posting regularly in a very long time:(. That said, we really need your help now. I have Beck in a kennel so I don’t have to chase her down for her meds, which means I desperately need disposable litter boxes to keep her kennel neat and clean. I have added them to our wishlist. We also need monetary donations to cover the cost of her meds so far. A 15 day supply has cost us $150+ so far, and the treatment is a minimum of 84 days. This is not including the cost of her extra vet care like the labs and exams.

Beck has already been with me for a very long time, looked over for adoption due to how shy she is. The one silver lining of this whole situation is that so far, being in a kennel forced to be handled on a daily basis seems to be helping her be more social. She actually leans in for pets now instead of cowering away. This of course could also be because of how weak and sick she is, but I’m choosing to believe when she comes out of this she will have a better chance at adoption.

Please keep Beck in your thoughts, and please donate if you are able. Litter boxes are on our wishlist!

I know this is not what anyone wants to hear, especially after so many of you so kindly donated formula, but baby Milk has passed away as well. Like I said, we knew they had very slim chances from the start, but we at least wanted to make sure they were warm and fed and comfortable, and they were thanks to y’all. The remaining formula we got donated will go towards the next bottle babies we take in. Thank you all so much.

I am very sorry to report that Soysauce has passed :( we believe she became septic due to her placenta and umbilical cord being left exposed to the elements/dirty ground for so long immediately after birth. Another tragic, avoidable death. Please spay and neuter your pets.

Milk is hanging on but as of tonight he is not interested in latching. We knew these guys had extremely slim chances from the start, but we are still doing everything we can. Jess will begin tube feeding him tonight if necessary.

Thank you everyone for your support 💛

UPDATE:
First of all, thank you so much to everyone who sent us supplies for the babies. We appreciate you all so incredibly much. Second, sadly this morning Soysauce is a bit lethargic. He is alright for now but with kittens this young they can fade and die so fast and unexpectedly. Please keep her in your thoughts:(

Introducing MILK AND SOYSAUCE 💛 thank you sophia for this name idea LOL. I think it fits perfectly. Thank you everyone who has sent us formula for them! They will be eating good thanks to yall:) like I said, they are by no means out of the woods and I won’t be getting my hopes up at all for at least a couple more weeks (kittens separated from the mom this early very rarely survive) but as of today they are latching, eating, and alert. More updates to come!

URGENT DONATIONS NEEDED! ‼️‼️‼️

DONATE: straycatnetwork.org/donate

Early this morning, the caretaker at a colony we have previously worked on extensively but had to move on from due to noncompliance from the commercial property owner contacted Jess to report he had found 4 kittens lying scattered in the roadway at the colony location. He reported one was dead. He left them there and went to work. Jess arrived as soon as she was able but by then only two were still there. She thought they were dead as they were stiff, cold, and not moving, one even still had the placenta attached, but when she picked them up she realized they were still breathing. She rushed them home and got them warm, and then the two of us went back to search for the other two with no luck. The two we did find are in an incubator and are now alert and responsive. They are less than 12 hours old. This is horrific and sadly will continue to happen all summer long at this colony since we have not been allowed to continue our work there. You all know that SCN is not the type of rescue to take kittens and not go back for the mom cat, but in this situation we have no choice. These kittens would have died within the hour without our intervention. They are still very much not out of the woods, but if they don’t make it at least they will not die in agony like they would have otherwise.

It has been a long time since we had bottle babies and we were not prepared for this. We need formula, blankets, syringes, etc. I have updated our Amazon wishlist. We are deeply grateful for any donations right now. I know I have said intake is closed, and it is, but these were extenuating circumstances.

We have a girl (gray) and a boy (white). Please comment your best name suggestions! Thank you everyone 💛

LAVENDER IS HOME! She was spayed and vaccinated yesterday and will be released tomorrow. The total for her vetting was $220, and we have raised $75. Our volunteer whose property she was found on is willing to pay the difference but I would love for SCN to be able to cover all of it. Please donate if you are able! Thank you everyone!
