Roger Appeldorn at RFLC Library at 2 pm

Volunteers Needed for Make a Difference Day at SEEC

Volunteers needed to help spruce up trails and outdoor classroom (learning circle) at Soaring Eagle Ecology Center (SEEC). SEEC is a nonprofit that offers hands-on, outdoor environmental education at no cost. Great opportunity for individuals, families and groups to help our total volunteer nonprofit make a difference for learners of all ages in northern Colorado. The project is located just south of Red Feather Lakes Elementary School.

Date: Saturday, October 24, 2015
Time: 10 am to 12:15 pm
Location: Meet at outdoor classroom at Soaring Eagle Ecology Center Registration: This event is also sponsored by United Way of Larimer County.

Follow the link below to register your kids for the free Fishing Fest at West Lake. At this time all the free fishing poles have been spoken for. Children can still attend if they have their own poles and attend with an adult. You do not have to register anymore! Just show up with your gear and have a good time!

Our participants have been fabulous and we would love to have your input and suggestions. Cache la Poudre Watershed and Fort Collins Climate Hub

Join Marcee Camenson from the award winning WaterSHED team (Fort Collins Utilities Water) and learn how drought, fires and flooding affect the health of our watershed. Using real examples from the Cache la Poudre watershed, she will discuss the current and future state of our precious water and forest resources. Marcee will also give a brief overview of the new Fort Collins Climate Hub.

Registration for the free fishing poles is closed. Children can still come to the Free Fishing Day at West Lake but will need to bring their own fishing poles, bait and have an adult with them. SEEC will be sponsoring fun learning stations on the shoreline - mountain pine beetle viewing with handheld microscope (ProScope), bears, bears, bears with assistance from RFL Community Library, and viewing macroinvertebrates with field microscopes complements of City of Fort Collins Utilities Water. Come and join us - the lake is stocked and the fish are biting. Saturday, June 7, 2014 from 8:30 am to 1 pm.
