We just received this from our engineer: On 11/8/21, Cal OES (Office of Emergency Services) announced a Notice of Funding Opportunity under a program called the "California Hazard Mitigation Grant Program" (funded by FEMA) which allows for "communities to implement mitigation activities to reduce risk to life and property from natural hazards...[which includes] wildfire, earthquake, drought, extreme weather, flooding,..." Unfortunately private citizens are not eligible, but non-profit organizations are. So we, at Tehamafloodvictims, will immediately be looking into forming this non-profit entity to assist landowners, within the proposed new Levee District area, obtain these grants. The deadline to submit a Letter of Intent is December 31 with the final application due by 3/10/22. So, please spread the word, sign the Levee District Petition, and we will help you apply for this grant. We need help, so please volunteer. Thank you. Rene, 530 917 2763, email [email protected]
