Sun Country Quilters Non-profit Quilt Guild in Northern California, serving Red Bluff and surrounding communities in Tehama County. Doors open at 6:45 p.m.

Sun Country Quilters usually meets on the fourth Monday of every month, but please check here for special meeting times on certain months. We meet in the auditorium at the Veterans Memorial Hall, 735 Oak St., Red Bluff. and the meeting starts promptly at 7 p.m., lasting approximately two hours. Special sew-in meetings are planned with extended hours throughout the year. The majority of the guild comes together at this monthly meeting, where programs on subjects related to quilting are presented. These programs are inspiring and educational; presenters may be talented local personalities or nationally known quilters. Optional guild activities are enjoyed by many members. Show & Tell: Bring a completed quilt, a work in progress, or something a friend or relative has made. This is a very inspiring part of our program. Raffle Prizes: Prizes are raffled each month by the Ways & Means committee. You never know what you might win! Block of the Month: Each month a block packet that includes a pattern and fabric is prepared and sold for a small fee. Sign ups may be required at the beginning of the year. Hospitality: Coffee, tea and refreshments are provided free of charge, donated by members during their birthday month. A hospitality table has been added for new members to have the opportunity to ask questions and find out about our guild and activities. Occasionally special "Simply Friends Days" and “Mini-Workshops” are held where new members work with and listen to helpful hints from more experienced members as they share a day quilting and visiting. Guests: Members are encouraged to bring a guest. January is Friendship Month when guests are welcome free of charge. At other times the guest fee is $5. Associations: Sun Country Quilters, Inc. is a registered non-profit organization. We are members of the Quilt Guilds of the North Quarter, and the Tehama County Chamber of Commerce.

🧵 250 YEARS OF STORIES: Colusa quilt historian Arlene Arnold will unfold more than antique quilts during a special Sept. 27 program at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church.

Using 26 quilts spanning from 1770 to 2020, Arnold will share the often-overlooked stories of women who achieved firsts throughout American history.

“I love sharing the quilts, but I think I almost love sharing the women more because I feel like I get to talk about them,” Arnold said.

This is interesting about local quilts in Tehama County.

Back in 2002 the Tehama County Museum had a quilt show. Guess what? Some of the quilts made by Tehama County quilters will be feature in the museum annex at the History Keepers and Seekers Rendezvous at the Tehama County Museum on Saturday, Sept. 12th from 10-2 p.m.! The quilters never cease to amaze us with their incredible work!
This is a free, family event - we hope to see you there!

The highlight of the Sun Country Quilters meeting was the presentation of 2 quilts to local Veterans, Katie Kay and Anna Miles, recognizing their service to our country. A special quilt was also presented to Anna's son.
