A big thank you to our very own Kiwanis member, Brent Thompson, for serving as our program speaker this week! Brent shared an informative and engaging update on all the exciting things happening at Simpson University, where he recently stepped into his new role as Chief of Staff/Chief Operating Officer.
Brent gave us a fascinating look at Simpson’s rich history, from its founding in 1921 as Simpson Bible Institute in Seattle to its move to Redding and growth into the thriving university it is today. We were excited to hear that Simpson welcomed its largest freshman class in 2025 and that student housing is currently at full capacity!
He also shared details about the university’s growth and success, including a 50% tuition discount for students living within a 35-mile radius, the development of their football program, five Cal Pac Championships across multiple sports, and future plans for a football field and expanded remote learning opportunities.
