Junior, Intermediate and Senior youth members may submit their 4-H Record Books for county competition. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the 2019-20 County Evaluation process has been changed to allow the most flexibility for members. Online registration is due by 5PM on October 9th. Physical books are to be dropped at the Tehama County UCCE/4-H Office by 5PM on October 21. Emailed books may be emailed to [email protected] by 5PM on October 21.

Let’s do this!

Under normal circumstances the Antelope 4-H Club would be meeting September 14th for enrollment, youth leadership opportunities, and coordination for the 4-H year. The pandemic has upset what is normal and the University of California, who oversee the 4-H program in California, has provided guidance for in-person meetings to not exceed 10 individuals at a time; 2 adults (minimum) and 8 youth, for a total of 10. That means no club meetings till the guidance changes, but project meetings can continue with the above guidance.

Here is what everyone needs to know……

4-H Leaders are ready, willing, and able to assist you with your livestock and other 4-H projects. Life must go on and every one of you deserve the best we can offer to continue your education by doing! Keep up with your projects and know a Jr. Livestock Auction will take place in 2021.

The 4-H Council meets September 22nd there will likely be more detailed information afterward.

For now, we must follow the Fair requirements for the Jr. Livestock Auction; that is enroll in 4-H by October 27. Other requirements will obviously be subject to change (80% club meetings attendance, events, etc.) more on that later.

Record Books will be due October 12th (yes, you need to do your record book!). At the minimum submit an Annual Project Report to be eligible for the 2021 Jr. Livestock Auction.

Enrollment, and payment, is on-line https://california.4honline.com/Login.aspx?403D40472F4547534E39717170733D

Contact your project leader for meeting times/dates.

We will make the best of this!

Just putting it out there if you have any questions on this subject...Here is the question that was asked and responded by the state office:

Can 4-H youth sell their own animal via raffle instead of going through county virtual auction? and if yes, can they advertise they’re a 4-H youth?
Private raffles by individuals are not permitted. Per the CA Attorney General’s site: Only eligible organizations as defined in Penal Code section 320.5, subdivision (c) may conduct raffles in California, provided they are registered with the Registry of Charitable Trusts before conducting any raffle activities. (See https://oag.ca.gov/charities/raffles). Public, non-profit agencies, such as the 4-H YDP are not to conduct lotteries, raffles, bingo, and other games of chance. See Games of Chance and the 4-H YDP FAQ and Raffles, Lotteries, Gaming and 4-H. Additionally, the use of the 4-H name and emblem are protected under the law and cannot be used to promote raffles or other games of chance (i.e., lotteries) (see 4-H Policy, Chapter 9, VII, H2).

The member should not do the selling of slots/raffle. Since they still have time to do a video, I would strongly recommend that or just to sell to an individual. Hope this helps.
