There is so much to be learned from banding birds … like this Yellow Warbler banded in R.I. who continues to return to its nesting site. Did you know Monmouth County is lucky to have its own bird ba**er? Tom Brown has been banding birds at Sandy Hook for years and contributes to this very valuable research data set!

This Saturday, May 16, 2026, MCAS was honored to attend the rededication of the Harding Bird Sanctuary in Fair Haven. The sanctuary project was a recipient of MCAS’ 2025 Conservation Grant (through the Fair Haven Garden Club.) It is a beautiful spot and worth checking out.
📍 The sanctuary is situated at the corner of Ridge Road and Harding Road, with the easiest public access located on Harvard Road near Lake Avenue.
