We want to offer another "shout out" to a few of the helpers who gave their time to our semi-annual volunteer clean up a few weeks ago.

We had a great group of people show up to help us on our volunteer Saturday, but there were many folks who showed up before and after the event to get jobs done.

Heather Craig took her pressure washer over and cleaned up the picnic tables so they would be clean and dry on the day of the event. That enabled the tables to be sanded and painted/sealed on Saturday.

Pat and Megan Lengerich had the help of Gaby Lengerich and Bill McGough. The team pushed up a HUGE stump that was left after a storm blew the top of the tree over. Pat dug brush out of the edge of the woods and Megan took the stump and all the debris over to At Ease to the huge burn pile where Don will burn it at the next big burn event.

And Bill McGough took the time to stop the curling floor linoleum from continuing to be broken and chiseled away by foot traffic at the doors. He hunted down wood then cut and sanded it to fit in the doorways at the community center building.

Thank you all for your contribution for our cleaning and betterment project.

We hope to see new faces in the spring.
We really appreciate our volunteers!!

Thank you. Thank you! THANK YOU .... to every energetic, able body that showed up to help with our Semi-Annual Fire Department & Community Center Volunteer Clean up day last Saturday, October 7th, 2023. The fire bays and community building look amazing!!

What did we accomplish? The fire bays had cobwebs wiped out, floors cleaned, clutter removed and refrigerators cleaned. The bathrooms got an amazing scrubbing. The kitchen was thoroughly cleaned and pantry purged and organized. Back porch was power washed and deep cleaned - tossing all sorts of accumulated mess. Outside of the building was power washed. Windows scrubbed clean inside and out. LOW hanging oak limbs were trimmed above/near picnic tables. Picnic tables were power washed, sanded and then water sealed. Ceiling tiles were repaired and replaced. A/c vents were cleaned & filters replaced. All dark brown chairs were cleaned. W**ds/pop-up trash bushes were trimmed near back porch. And .... those are just the highlights. A LOT was accomplished on Saturday!!

Thank you for all of those who came and gave their time and energy. You are deeply and greatly appreciated.

If you aren't available to help on Saturday, October 7th with our clean up project BUT you'd still like to help, we can use cleaning supplies. Any donations would be graciously received and very much appreciated. At Ease Marina & Campground is taking in supplies for us. Just drop off anything you might have to offer any time before next Saturday.

Spread the word ... please
Not everyone in the neighborhood is on Facebook. If you know a neighbor who might be willing to volunteer, would you invite them to join us on Saturday?
Ask your neighbors that are on Facebook if they could join us.
Text friends who might join us.
Share this event with friends on Facebook
If we could have 45-75 people show up, we could probably get everything done that needs to be completed.
Thanks so much for your support!!

The fire truck bays need some attention, as well.
Bay jobs include the following:
- Wiping down cobwebs
- Sweeping or blowing out the bays
- If someone wanted to take on the job,
the trucks would use a good wash and detailing
- The ceilings have some mildew, but power washing them is not an option because they are so tall. Clorox in a sprayer might work. Maybe someone else has ideas?
- There are some items that people have dropped off as "donations" that need to be removed from the building. They will be given away, thrown away (if trash) or donated to Goodwill.
So that we don't have to wait on tools or share those available,
Items needed to do these jobs would include
Blower
buckets & sponges or rags/cleaning clothsWindex409 or Purple Power or similar cleaner
Paper towels and or glass squeegee
Maybe some kind of a long-reach brush to get cobwebs?
Use your imagination. Please feel free to bring any items that might be helpful for yourself or others. (Mark your tools well)
Are there other items you think would be helpful? Please tell us!

Handy Man alert!!
We will definitely need a few tool boxes and handy men and women. When you start cleaning, you find things that are broken. I know there are one (or two?) tiles that have fallen or are loose in the dining area. Those need some TLC and repair. Other things will come up as well.
If you have a tool box and some basic hardware that is easily portable, could you bring them along please? Nails, screws, saws, drills and the like would be SO helpful and appreciated.
We would love to have people show up and take on a project then possibly be willing to run home to get the items needed to do the job. Does that sound feasible? Or feel free to message me directly and ask for more info.
With all of us working together, we can get our wonderful little building spiffed and repaired in no time ... while we get to enjoy old friends and new neighbors from the neighborhood.
We're looking forward to seeing you on Saturday!
