In 2001, Reardan's Community Day Assn.

was looking for something new to add to the festivities. Pastor David Kappus and his wife Theresa suggested a melodrama and offered to direct/produce one that very year. It is now an annual event, still primarily directed by Theresa Kappus. A small crew of native Reardanites helps with play selection and production. The auditions (usually in March) are open to Reardan-area residents 8th grade and up.

On Saturday, June 15, we celebrated the life of Virgil Lee Jorgensen. As a tribute, we offer this list of the characters Lee played on stage with the Not-All-There Players. While Lee is famous for being "The Villain," he brought his particular brand of energy and wit to other roles as well. And, of course he was, in his own right, a character! We love you Lee! ❤️

🎭 Mort Ripley (mortician)
🎭 Sleazy Tab Lloyd (villain)
🎭 Pop Cicle (lovable ice cream shop owner)
🎭 C**t Revolver, Jr. (villain)
🎭 Coop Seville (heroine's papa)
🎭 J. Harrington Deal (villain)
🎭 Richard Coldheart (villain)
🎭 Mike Davis (detective)
🎭 Snively Swine / Sir Reginald Rottentot (villain / villain in disguise)
🎭 Midas Overbarril (villain)
🎭 "Big" Harry Deal (villain)
🎭 Lee's last performance with the NAT Players was an animated delivery of the poem, "The Cremation of Sam McGee"

We don't have photos of all of his roles on this page, but there are plenty, so go take a look.

Greetings, everyone -
A few days ago, a post was made to this page featuring a video made in documentary style that made what were, to some, sensational claims about our current pandemic. On the one hand, many articles have been published recently about the video's perceived inaccuracies, questionable legitimacy of persons portrayed, its use of long-used persuasion techniques, and the speculative nature of its underlying assumptions. At times of uncertainty and crisis, humans strive to find answers. When that desire is driven by fear or mistrust, misinformation and manipulation abound. That reason alone, in my view, was enough to remove the post from this page.

But more practically, and as a longtime member and participant in Not-All-There-Players pointed out, this page is supposed to be about the Mule Days melodramas. And he's right. That, too, was reason enough to remove the post.

In the interest of keeping this page focused on its purpose, be aware that any posts not contributing to that purpose will be reviewed and/or deleted. We have always valued this being an open page on which anyone can post. We'd hate to have to change that.

On the bright side, Theresa and I have an idea. It was bad enough to not have the play in recent years but missing Mule Days altogether just seems unreal. So we are going to try to bring you some light and laughter.

You've seen other theaters and arts organizations post past performances for people to watch during this challenging time. We think we can do the same. We are in search of quality digital copies of some of our early productions. If you have one, would you contact us?

We miss you all and hope you are staying well.

Play on!
