Township of Spring Professional Firefighters

Just after shift change D and A Platoon Township of Spring Professional Firefighters IAFF Local 4755 were alerted to an automatic fire alarm in Spring Township. Shortly after dispatch, another call was received for a fire in the kitchen. Crews arrived on location and had the incident under control in under 10 minutes.

7/6 (D platoon) At 1930 hrs R85 was dispatched to assist Sta 64 with a MVA with injuries on the Penn street bridge over 422. While enroute the call was upgraded to entrapment. As crews were arriving PD advised of heavy entrapment in one vehicle. When R85 arrived the crew used multiple of its rescue tools to gain access to the patient. R85 worked with City Rescue 1 and ladder 64 to complete the rescue.

July 2 (D Platoon) While returning from a call in Bern twp E85 could see a large column of smoke from the area of state hill road. While the crew was heading that way a combine fire in a field was dispatched. E85 was directed by FC18 to add on and take in the call. While enroute to the scene trooper 1, that was over head for another incident reported a heavily involved combine in the field with what appeared to be multiple acres on fire. E85 arrived and confirmed the report and the crew began stopping the forward progression of the fire. Crews from 18, 85, 26, 42, and 79 were able to keep the fire in check in the field area and were able to extinguish the combine as well.

6/11 (C Platoon) E85 was dispatched to assist station 66 on a working apartment fire on hampden blvd. Upon arrival E85 was directed to assist with suppression efforts of the well advanced fire in the roof and 3rd floor of the apartment building. E85s crew was on scene for about 4 hrs prior to being released by command.
