The establishment of the new nonprofit corporation -- New Journey Community Outreach, Inc. (NJCO) -- is an immediate response to the closing of New Journey United Methodist Church and its merger with West Lawn United Methodist Church. The non-profit was established to assume responsibility for continuing the essential food and clothing programs provided for low-income persons in the Reading community by New Journey United Methodist Church (formerly Central Park UMC) for the past 40 years.

We were honored and humbled to receive the Community Partner Award from the extraordinary Tower Health Street Medicine Team. This group exemplifies compassion and dignity in every interaction. They embody equity by meeting people where they are. We are deeply grateful for this recognition and even more grateful to walk alongside them in this work.

In 2025 alone, volunteers contributed nearly 2,000 hours of service, providing care to more than 1,100 patients.

THANK YOU Brentwood Industries, Inc. for your continuing support of our food programs!
Their team rolled up their sleeves and helped us prepare over 400 lunches for individuals and families in our community who need a helping hand. This kind of dedication means the world to us — and to every person we serve. Together, we’re making our community stronger, one meal at a time. 🍽️❤️

Thank you members of the Albright football team for coming out Friday morning to unload two Gaylords of water for our community lunches! 🏈💧 They never hesitate to show up and serve with the best attitudes. We are so grateful for your willingness to help — you make our community stronger!

When Amazon.com is here, there is nothing that can’t get done. Fast, efficient and ready to do whatever we need them to do. Now if we could just figure out a way to have them here every day. Much love and appreciation for your commitment to New Journey. ❤️❤️
