is a philanthropic organization, benefiting individual charities, scholarships, and social needs in the Reading, MA area. In the past five years alone, the group has raised and returned to the community more than $60,000. The group was founded in 1950 and is comprised of 25 women whose mission is to coordinate fund-raising, social and civic events in Reading. Members use the group’s long-standing traditions along with innovative fundraisers to support the community.

This year’s Gala was a beautiful celebration of community, generosity, and purpose, raising over $40,000 to be reinvested locally in support of our town, educational programs, community initiatives, and families in need.

Join us at this inspirational event and hear from women leaders in our community, including our very own Vice President, Alyssa Spinale!

Prepare to be inspired at the upcoming Women & Leadership: A Panel Presented by Reading's Office of Equity & Social Justice

The Office of Equity and Social Justice (OESJ), in partnership with the Women's League of Reading, MA, invites residents, community members and Town employees to attend the inaugural Women & Leadership panel discussion, celebrating the achievements and impact of women in our community.

This engaging and thought-provoking event will feature a dynamic moderated conversation with distinguished women leaders from across Reading. Panelists will share insights and experiences while exploring themes of leadership, equity, history, and civic engagement.

Featured Panelists:
• Acting Town Manager Jayne Wellman
• Liz Whitelam, Owner of Whitelam Books
• Deputy Chief of Police Christine Amendola
• Pastor Mary Curlew
• Author and Chief Investment Officer Sarah Samuels
• Alyssa Spinale, Vice President of the Women’s League of Reading

The evening will also feature a special cello performance and poetry readings by a local artist, adding a creative and reflective element to the program. Light refreshments will be served.

The Silent Auction for the Women’s League Gala is open! 📣

We have thousands of dollars of amazing packages and items available for you to bid on — from weeklong stays in Maine, to organization services, to sporting events, and more! Don’t miss out.

Entirely online, the auction will begin on Friday March 6th at 6:00pm, closing at 9:45pm on Saturday March 7th. Bidding will take place via the Auctria app/website.

QR codes for auction items will also be available at the Gala. A credit card must be registered in the auction app in order to place bids.

You do not need be a gala ticket holder to participate In the silent auction.

Winners will be automatically notified via the app or email communication. Your pre-registered credit card will be charged if you win. We encourage guests to take all auction prizes home that evening.
