Today we celebrated 20 years of the Peace Trust for Safe Berks.

Twenty years ago, Carolyn Holleran had a vision: survivors deserve services they can depend on, and those services need reliable, unrestricted funding to continue their important work. The Peace Trust was created to provide ongoing support for survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence through the commitment of donors who give each year to help sustain these critical services.

It was especially wonderful to celebrate alongside so many members of ABWA – Women Excelling who are also Peace Trust members. Together, we are helping ensure that survivors have access to the support, advocacy, and resources they need.

Today members came together to support Michele Petree Reinert of Breast Cancer Support Services' Glitz and Glamour Gala. Today women no longer fear a death sentence when given the diagnosis of breast cancer thanks to BCSS and the many other survivors who have been through it and overcame. Strong and beautiful women took the stage to share their journey. A beautiful afternoon. Regina is out west but was proud to sponsor this event and with us in spirit.

Women Excelling had a tremendous amount of celebration today. May is the month that we begin planing for the upcoming year as we nominate and elect the new Executive Board.

As the current President of ABWA,Women Excelling, it has been my honor to serve you.
The value in leadership comes from building teams that will be better which is the greatest legacy. Term limitations are beneficial for growth and development. As we work through the next three months left in our term, it is with great excitement that the following superwoman will be leading our chapter into its next level of all great things as members of ABWA.

Monumental day today. You know when you meet someone for the very first time and you then begin a journey of friendship. The amazing part is through that friendship something amazing transpired and here you begin to see change.

This morning Women Excelling celebrated a member of our Chapter, Jen Barkman. This superwoman stepped up to the task of being the Executive Board Secretary among many other items that continued to define a stronger Chapter and overall team.

Jen, do not ever be afraid to fly! You do it with grace and we are cheering you from the sidelines.
Today’s cheering was for you as we celebrate you being the 2026 honoree as you accepted the Women Excelling Protégée Award.

Today was a beautiful spring day. It started with a beautiful sunny morning as the Women Excelling Chapter of ABWA came together to celebrate, learn and continue building community among the members.
Today. Amber Rice-Manella was honored by Women Excelling. Amber exhibits the ABWA core values. Selfless leadership, lifelong learning, choosing to make a difference, building community while focusing on facts and owning the results of our actions.
