Berks County Community Foundation Our mission is to promote philanthropy and improve the quality of life for the residents of Berks County. Our work is made possible by local, generous donors.

We do this by distributing grants, scholarships, and other forms of support. Change starts with a spark. Your spark. Together, we'll turn it into a shining light across Berks County. Community foundations are nonprofit organizations established by and for the individuals who live in that community. Historically, community foundations do three things:

1. Help people create charitable funds
2. Manage those charitable dollars
3. Distribute grants and scholarships

Our team is comprised of passionate, driven people committed to helping you create a better Berks County. We will work with you or your professional advisor to determine the best way to meet your charitable goals and support the causes you love. Once you establish a fund with us, we will then manage the charitable dollars. Those dollars you've entrusted with us are invested for the long term to ensure your legacy continues in perpetuity. Our program officers, who are experts in their areas of focus, will conduct site visits, study pressing issues, and monitor the local nonprofit scene to ensure all grants meet your charitable intentions and every scholarship makes a real difference for students. We're more than the community's savings account; we're here to help you improve Berks County for the better, forever.

30 Years. 30 Days. 30 Causes. One Community.

For 30 days, we’ve had the privilege of highlighting organizations that make a meaningful difference in the communities around us, all in celebration of Everlast Roofing’s 30th anniversary.

As we close out the month of September, we want to say thank you to our employees for sharing the causes closest to their hearts, to the organizations doing incredible work every day, and to everyone who followed along and helped us celebrate.

30 years gives us a lot to celebrate, and giving back made this milestone even more meaningful.

Cindy Milian is the Health and Human Services of Berks County Community Foundation. Cindy oversees grants for individuals, public health initiatives, and human services initiatives.

Prior to joining the , Cindy worked with families as an Early Intervention Specialist, Therapeutic Staff Support, Home Health Aide Supervisor, Caseworker, and Casework Supervisor for 25 years.

As a first-generation American-born Latina, native New Yorker, mother of 2 children, and a military spouse, Cindy has experienced living in a variety of culturally diverse environments.

The Community Foundation's VP for Programs & Initiatives, Monica Reyes, is delivering a speech at a breakfast celebration benefiting Spotlight PA on Saturday, Oct. 3, at 9 a.m. at Goggleworks Center for the Arts. We hope you'll join!

The Community Spotlight Breakfast celebrates neighbors whose work is making Berks County a better place to live, work, and do business—and it also supports Spotlight PA’s mission to produce vital journalism for Reading and Berks County.

Join the Reading Symphony Orchestra on Saturday, October 10, for Classics 2: Berks in Focus: Symphony of a Thousand Images at the Santander Performing Arts Center!

In a unique collaboration with Westwater Arts and the Yocum Institute for Arts Education, over 1,000 photos submitted by local students and residents will be choreographed live and projected above the stage on three giant screens.

Plus, enjoy iconic American music by Gershwin, Copland, and Bernstein, alongside a special performance by the Reading Symphony Youth Orchestra!
