Raymond Area Museum

Raymond Area Museum Our local, hometown museum was officially launched in June 2019. We did not have a space until January 2024, and moved into it in March 2024.

We are located in the Raymond Event Center on Day Street. Our mission is to discover and preserve our heritage, including the people of the city of Raymond (incorporated in 1888) and the surrounding townships.

What a wonderful community weekend for the Raymond Harvest Fest! We welcomed around 175 of you to the museum for browsing, visiting and mug shots (we will be posting some of those pics later on). Many of you also donated to get your very own Raymond Mug. We still have mugs available for a $24 donation. We can also ship them - email or call.

Check out the following pages for more Harvest Fest pictures - Raymond Mn Public Group, Raymond Harvest Festival and Raymond Ambulance.

Good luck to the Raymond Rockets in the State Class B tourney Saturday! We are all rooting for you!

We are very proud of a special, dedicated group in our community celebrating a half century of service - our Raymond Ambulance Service. Many of our friends, family and neighbors have served over the past 50 years and new volunteers are welcomed and trained yearly. Thank them for their dedication and sacrifice!!

The painting elves have been hard at work improving the look of our museum entry area. We need to place the capstone yet, add a pot of flowers and we'll be ready for Harvest Fest Aug. 21-23! We are on the north side of the event center (former school) Door 13 and just to the east of the new community center that's being built. Easiest way to find us is to take Spicer Avenue to the east till you reach the ball park and then go north. We'll have signs to help you find us!!

Here's a couple of oldies from recent donations to the museum. We love your donations - large or small or $$. The Shredded Wheat ad is from a Child Life magazine from May 1927. The clipping tells of Leo Anderson and his high quality pigs sold at market in 1948.

Ahhhh, enjoy the cool breezes after a long hot spell!

Today we are featuring post cards picturing Raymond churches from days gone by. The Methodist church is still going in the same building, as is St. John's Lutheran. Trinity Lutheran has become a beautiful residence, and Sacred Heart Catholic Church is empty and in disrepair (the newer 1962 version on the south side of town closed in 1991 and is also in disrepair).

The new construction is the future home for CUPPA JOY, a coffee shop on the east end of Raymond in the Cheers parking lot area, and owned by Cheryl and Ted Perry, long time Raymondites. Exciting!

Construction continues inside the new community center.........you'll want to take a look when you're in town visiting or at the Harvest Fest August 21-23.

Make today a great day!😎
