SCOUT SHOP AND SERVICE CENTER CLOSED June 1, 2026

The Scout Shop and Council Office will be closed today, June 1st, as we have no running water in the main part of camp. We hope to be able to open on Tuesday, but please check back here for an update, or call us before coming in.

Please check your Safeguarding Youth (formerly known as Youth Protection) expiration date. There are a number of adults that expire this month & some have already expired. If in expired status you are not allowed on activities and overnights! Let’s keep our youth safe & set the example!

Good morning! The American Heart Association is holding their Maine Heart Walk and are looking for volunteers. It is the same weekend as the Camporees. Their coordinator came to our DCAD this past fall and comes from a scouting family.

If anyone is interested and would like service hours, please see below:

Location: Back Cove Trail, Portland
Volunteer Role: Early morning set-up (light lifting, signage, basic event prep)
Time Commitment: 6:00am to 8:00am (welcome to stay for assist during the event and clean-up as well IF interested)

Update! We are now at 17! Keep the registrations coming!

We currently have 14 youth registered! I have a Scoutmaster who has committed 4 scouts once we get to 20, to make our 24! We need to have all registrations in by May 20th.

If you have questions, please reach out! The program is awesome!

The National Youth Leader Training (NYLT) Conference is a 6-day long experience conducted by the Pine Tree Council. I understand how valuable your time is, and I truly appreciate all that you already give as volunteers. If you have already answered this by email, Thank you! Our leadership team is working to ensure the remainder of this Scouting year is the best it can be for our Scouts. To do that effectively, we need to assess participation in scheduled events and determine whether adjustments or additional programming may be needed. For example, only 100 youth are registered this summer for camp. Only 7 are registered for NYLT and we need at least 24 to run the course.
