Graduation for the Leadership Carbon County Class of 2026!

We had a great graduation celebration at The Sinclair Theater with dinner catered by Aspen House. A huge thank you to Dr. Travis Moore, our guest speaker for the evening. Thank you for such an introspective speech!

AG & Tourism Day

Leadership Carbon County, Class of 2026 had an extremely full day.....we did the Carbon County loop. Starting at 8 AM we rode to the Little Snake River Museum, where the class had an opportunity to learn about the history there in the valley and we had the Speaker Michelle Duncan who talked about agriculture, Cindy Loose drove over from Saratoga and she spoke about the WY Backcountry Discovery Route (BDR), Christy Bentulan spoke off road Jeeping.....we had a fabulous lunch feast prepared and hosted by Duncan Livestock. We went over the scenic Battle Highway, making our way to Saratoga Hobo Pool, receiving a wonderful history of the hot springs by Justin Horn, headed to Rawlins to one of Carbon County's most visited places the old Wyoming Frontier Prison, tour led by Tina Hill, making our last stop at CCHED where Megan McComas, Discover Carbon County waited patiently as we got behind schedule to talk about tourism in CC!

With a short break we gathered back together for their dinner and graduation. Dr Travis Moore, was our inspirational guest speaker giving us all encouragement and something to think about.

It was a very long day.....thank you for sticking it out!

On behalf of the Leadership Carbon County Alumni Class of 2025, along with Jennifer, Pam, and myself (Yvonne), congratulations to all of you! It has been a pleasure helping plan and be part of your leadership journey the past seven months. We hope this experience has given you a greater appreciation for Carbon County, the communities we serve, and the incredible people who make it such a special place. Congratulations, Class of 2026—

Health and Human Services Day 2026. 🏥🚑🚒

Earlier this year, Leadership Carbon County spent a day learning about Health and Human Services in Carbon County and across the state. Carbon County Public Health, Healthy Wyoming, Casada Funeral Home, and Carbon County EMS (including MHCC, SCWEMS, Intermountain Health Life Flight, and Search & Rescue) all provided great information to our group. Also a huge shout out to the crew at the Memorial Hospital of Carbon County, where we spent the majority of the day and received a behind the scenes look at surgical services, and learned about quality initiatives, transitional care, and echo cardiograms. MHCC also provided us with a delicious lunch! Thank you!

Thanks to everyone who took time out of their day to present about so many important programs and services across our county and to Mira Miller, from the 2025 class of Leadership Carbon County, for helping to arrange this awesome day!

Leadership Carbon County 2026 participated in Industry Day last week, which comprised a tour of Williams Echo Springs Plant along with engagement with Rocky Mountain Power, a presentation from HF Sinclair, and a tour of Power Company of Wyoming's facilities.

Thank you to all of the industry partners who helped make this possible and special shout out to Heather Church, from Leadership Carbon County Class of 2025, for leading this day!

Today's trip to our states capital was exceptional. Upon our arrival we entered the Legislative session already ongoing. We were privileged to be introduced by Senator Hicks in the Senate and Representative Pam Thayer in the House. Our luncheon discussion with Governor Mark Gordon, the WY Business Council, and Josh Dorrell centered on Wyoming's economic and financial performance, challenges, and future developments. Gail Symons of 307 Civics eloquently emphasized the significance of voting. We wrapped up the day with a detailed tour of the capitol building, led by Cathy Ellis, which provided an unmatched level of insight into the building's history and features.

Leadership Carbon County 2026 is having a wonderful day at the State Capitol today! They heard Governor Gordon speak, were introduced in the House and the Senate, and are taking a tour of the Capitol building. More photos to come!

We are pleased to announce the launch of Leadership Carbon County 2026, introducing our class participants, sharing experiences of past alumni, and featuring a distinguished guest speaker, Ashley Harpstreith, Executive Director of the Wyoming Association of Municipalities (WAM), via Zoom.

We look forward to welcoming the class to an exceptional experience that will enhance their knowledge of Carbon County and foster their personal leadership growth.
