We’re officially moving forward with Ravenswood’s EPA Brownfields Assessment Grant—and this is where it starts to matter for local property owners.

If you own a vacant or underused commercial building in the city, we may be able to help you take the next step—at no cost to you.

Through this program, the City can fund environmental assessments and planning work that helps:
âś” identify potential issues
âś” remove unknowns
âś” make your property easier to redevelop, finance, or sell

This is one of the biggest barriers for older buildings—and now we have a tool to help overcome it.

We’ve already started identifying priority sites, but we’re also looking to connect with other property owners who may be interested.

If you’ve ever thought:
“I’d like to do something with this building, but I don’t know where to start”—this is your opportunity.

Let’s start bringing more of our buildings back to life.

🙏 A Special Thank You to Jared Bloxton 🙏

As we get closer to completing the Ravenswood Community Mural Mosaic Project, we want to take a moment to recognize Jared Bloxton for his support in helping make this project possible.

Jared has graciously allowed us to install the mural on his building in downtown Ravenswood — creating a highly visible, permanent home for a project that represents hundreds of community members.

It’s important to note that this is a community-driven effort, and Jared has offered this space simply as a way to support the project and the continued revitalization of downtown. There is no financial gain tied to this, just a shared commitment to creating something meaningful for Ravenswood.

In addition to being a local business owner, Jared also serves as a City Council member and Deputy Mayor, and we appreciate his willingness to support projects that bring people together and invest in our community’s future.

Projects like this only happen when people step up — and we’re grateful that Jared chose to do just that.
