For those that have bought property and live off grid.
There have been so many that have moved into wooded areas, and we don’t know where your cabin or tiny homes are located, most are tucked up under the forest canopy that it might not even show up on aerial photos, that being said,
#1 it’s tough for us to locate these places using the address you provide, simply because of all the map programs out there none actually pinpoint your location. And some of you are horrible at directions, not being rude just stating facts.
#2 if you live “off grid” you should have an evacuation plan as to what if there was a wildfire, most have decided to live on a dead end road in the middle of who knows where!
#3 make sure you don’t have combustible material all over your home site, vegetation, trash and what not!
#4 look into some type of fire gel that can inhibit fire spread on your structure, there is a company named Barricade that sells products that mix with water that forms a barrier to help and in most cases prevents structure from burning, on that note we are not endorsing Barricade, you do your own research.
And no the fire departments do not and will not carry it quite simply it is not cheap.
#5 stop burning your trash especially during this drought.
#6 most fire departments are volunteer and there is seldom anyone at the station, I don’t know how many times people have came to the station to report an accident or a fire. We have lives and work for a living, some of us are blessed to be able to take off work to go to a fire call or accident.
Also I am not mad writing this, it may come off that way, I assure you that I am trying to keep people informed.
Thank you very much for taking the time to read this lengthy post
