A huge thank you to everyone who spent time with us this weekend and shared new skills, knowledge, and experiences. We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to learn new ways to slow down, be present, and focus on our well-being.

One of the most meaningful lessons was learning the importance of breathing techniques and how taking a moment to pause can help us manage stress, emotions, and everyday challenges. We are excited to bring these valuable tools back to our young women and men, helping them build confidence, resilience, and healthy coping skills.

Thank you for helping our youth to create experiences that will have a lasting impact. We look forward to sharing what we’ve learned and continuing to grow together. ❤️

The Kind Hearted Women’s Society had the honor and privilege of meeting Jasmine Brett Stringer and learning about R.E.S.T. — A New Framework for Women’s Wellbeing in the Age of Overwhelm. It was an inspiring experience filled with wisdom, encouragement, and meaningful conversations about self-care, balance, and supporting women in their journeys. We are so grateful for the opportunity to learn from her and gain valuable tools that can help strengthen our community. We were also incredibly blessed to receive a signed copy of her book, a gift we will cherish and continue learning from. Wopila (thank you) to Jasmine Brett Stringer for sharing her knowledge, kindness, and passion for empowering women. 💜✨

The Kind Hearted Women’s Society Executive Director, Caylee Martinez, along with members Jada Steidley and Tarah, had the wonderful opportunity to attend a gathering where we met many amazing organizations and community leaders. We are incredibly grateful for the knowledge that was shared, the meaningful conversations that took place, and the new relationships that were built.

Last week with the Kind Hearted Women’s Society was filled with learning, laughter, and delicious memories! The girls had the opportunity to make wasna and berry patties together, and it was such a special experience to watch them learn from one another every step of the way. Some of the girls were making and even trying wasna for the very first time, making the day even more meaningful. It was wonderful to see everyone helping each other, sharing knowledge, asking questions, and working together as a team. The room was filled with excitement, smiles, and positive energy as the girls mixed ingredients and created something special with their own hands. Moments like these remind us of the importance of keeping traditions alive and creating opportunities for our youth to learn, grow, and connect with one another. By the end of the project, everyone was proud of what they had made—and wow, it was absolutely amazing and so yummy! 😋 We are grateful for these experiences that bring our youth together, strengthen friendships, and create lasting memories that will be cherished for years to come. ❤️✨

Yesterday was a beautiful and meaningful day with the Kind Hearted Women’s Society at the ranch. Our youth spent the day helping clean up the garden, taking care of daily garden chores, and learning the importance of responsibility, teamwork, and caring for the land. We also had the opportunity to feed the horses, which brought so much excitement, laughter, and joy to everyone involved. Watching the youth connect with nature, learn new skills, and take pride in the work they were doing was truly heartwarming. Moments like these remind us why we do what we do. Seeing the smiles on their faces, their eagerness to help, and the way they encourage one another makes every moment worthwhile. These experiences are about so much more than chores—they are about building confidence, creating positive memories, strengthening connections to our community, and nurturing the next generation. We are so grateful for days like today, filled with learning, laughter, hard work, and the simple joy of being together. Thank you to the Kind Hearted Women’s Society for continuing to create opportunities that inspire, uplift, and empower our youth. 🌱🐴💚✨

The Kind Hearted Women's Society recently brought a truly fantastic project to life, beautifully expanding on their incredible knowledge day all about native plants! It was amazing to see everyone so engaged and creative. Following the deep dive into the flora of our lands, the winyans channeled their newfound wisdom into crafting vibrant posters and detailed drawings of the plants they learned about. This wasn't just about art; it was a hands-on way to connect with and understand these vital natural resources. For instance, some focused on **Sweet Grass**, known in Lakota as *Pȟeží Wakȟáŋ*, which is cherished for its role in purification, prayer, and ceremonies, often braided and burned to attract good spirits. Others highlighted A, **Sage**, or *Pejíȟota* in Lakota, was a popular subject, recognized for its powerful cleansing abilities used in smudging ceremonies to purify spaces and individuals, offering blessings and healing. This project went so much further than just drawing; it was a memorable and fun experience that deepened everyone's appreciation for these plants, their traditional uses, and their importance in Lakota culture, making the learning truly come alive.
