Can you help?

SOS! Jubilee House, Traverse City's only drop-in day shelter for adults experiencing homelessness, is totally out of snacks! Since January, we have handed out roughly 6,200 individually wrapped snacks to those in need of a little extra fuel.

We are looking for shelf-stable, single-serving snack foods such as:
granola bars
protein bars
trail mix
chips
microwave popcorn
fruit snacks
jerky

Donations can be dropped off Mon-Fri from 10am-5:30pm at 325 Washington St. (the little gray house next to Grace Episcopal Church.) Please park in the driveway between Jubilee and Grace Church, come up the wooden ramp to the back door, and ring the doorbell. One of our fabulous volunteers will come meet you! PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE DONATIONS WHEN WE ARE CLOSED.

Yesterday, we had the good fortune to sit with our friends Taylor and Bill (from Food Rescue of Goodwill Northern Michigan and 5loaves2fish, respectively) at Northwestern Michigan College to speak with students pursuing various social work degrees.
Because October is "Tackling Hunger Month," we discussed the impact that food insecurity has on our community.
We met some great students, acquired new friends and volunteers, and shared what we have learned from our neighbors.
