A couple of weeks ago we had two Spearfish CRNAs attend Women in Science (WIS) at Black Hills State University!!

This is an annual free one-day career-learning conference hosted by BHSU in Spearfish, SD. It targets seventh grade students (especially girls) from western SD and eastern Wyoming to spark interest in STEM careers!! The event connects middle schoolers with women scientists and professionals through hands-on activities, talks, and networking!

This is the fourth year CRNAs have been represented!! Thanks Myra Rude and Heidi Johnson for spotlighting our career!!

We recently received the following message from a patient, and couldn't agree more! He is awesome!

“I had a consultation with Keith, CRNA, the day before my surgery. I have had a lot of surgeries and am a difficult intubation. Because of that I’ve had many awful intubations and was scared for another one. Keith listened to my concerns, was kind, compassionate and knowledgeable. We came up with a game plan for the next day and I left feeling much better about the process. The morning of surgery he came in and made sure I was comfortable and gave pre-surgery meds to help ease my fears. It all went very well. He gave me confidence in your facility and staff for any future medical procedures I may need. Keith also called me at home to see how I was feeling. All of the staff that had a part in my surgery were great, but he was the best!”

Congratulations to USD’s inaugural Doctor of Nursing Anesthesia Practice class, who have achieved a 100% pass rate on the National Certification Examination! 🩺🏥 Students achieved this rate within 30 days of program completion, including an exceptional 89% first-time pass rate. 👏
