Pigs are highly social animals who enjoy nothing more than taking a nap together!
JD, MoShoo, Oinkers and Willie all decided to come take a nap around me after breakfast, which was therapeutic and relaxing for me as well.

We did it! With winter coming, we needed to free our third horse stalls for our equine friends. In order to do so, Gizmo, Wilbur and our visitor Oinkers had to make friends with our oldies JD and MoShoo. Not always an easy feat with pigs!
However, we are happy to report that they all decided they could tolerate one another, and this morning they moved into JD and MoShoo area. It would have been too small for 5 pigs, so we increased it by incorporating our feeding area.
Look as though everybody is willing to give this a try!
This space is not only larger than the stall, it is also better protected from the elements and will be warmer this winter. ❤️

Thanks to the generous donation of pumpkins from the Pumpkin Festival put on by Downtown Rapid City, we have some pretty happy pigs tonight.
Thanks so much for thinking of our residents again this year, we appreciate it! ❤️

These two ladies moved to Nuisance Farm and Sanctuary today because they are just too lovely to end up in the frying pan.
Welcome to rescue, girls, we are looking forward to spending many happy days watching you enjoy your lives! 🥰

I don't know about you, but to me, Wilbur is one of the cutest critters roaming the land out here! He has a face only a mother could love, gets offended by absolutely everything and anything, values his private time more than comfort and food, and just makes me smile every time I see him do one of his strange Willie-things.
I know he loves me somewhere deep, deep, deep inside, but he definitely keeps the lid on tight! 🤣🥰
