MINA IS BACK, BABY!

Our girl had a long road to recovery after her prolapse. The biggest thank you to our amazing vets at Town & Country who went above and beyond with her care... and letting her couch surf at their place for a couple months. 😬😉 They took tremendous care of her! As you can see, she is back to her happy, adorable self!

And of course, thank you to all of you who donated and prayed for Mina. We couldn't do what we do without you ❤️‍🩹

You can support future vet visits by donating directly to our account at Town and Country Veterinary Clinic! 🐷🐑🦆

Guineas... what a bunch of little weirdos! When I sat with Gizmo and Willie watching the three guineas do their thing, I couldn't help but remember the anecdote Mandy Froelich recently shared on her page.
Written by Renee McKay, and it was as though she'd taken the words straight out of my brain!

'Guinea Fowl
I was warned by multiple people that Guinea fowl are basically tiny feathered criminals with no loyalty, no survival instincts and the attention span of a moth at a disco.

“Good luck keeping them penned,” they said.
“They’ll end up in the neighbour’s yard,” they said.
“They scream at absolutely nothing,” they ALSO said.

Well joke’s on them because my 8 weird little bowling pins come running home every single night when they hear the food bucket shake.

Not because they love me.
Not because we’ve bonded.
But because these birds operate entirely on two thoughts:

PANIC
SNACKS

I swear Guinea fowl look like someone tried to design a turkey from memory after three beers. Their tiny bald heads, polka dots and chaotic running style make them look permanently late for an appointment they don’t understand.

During the day they patrol the property like an unpaid neighbourhood watch group, screaming if a leaf moves suspiciously. The sheep can sneeze 3 paddocks away and suddenly all 8 of them are holding an emergency meeting.

Then night hits and the same birds that supposedly “can’t be contained” come sprinting into the pen like toddlers hearing the ice cream truck.

Honestly, they’re ridiculous.
I love every last unhinged little weirdo.'

Make them make sense!! 🤣

Shirley got a haircut today! She was incredibly patient and calm throughout the entire procedure and definitely felt a heck of a lot lighter and cooler afterwards!
