We’re excited to share that earlier this month, our Kiwanis group welcomed three new members! 🎉 We’re so glad to have them join us as we continue serving and supporting our community together.

If you’ve ever been curious about what Kiwanis is all about or how you can get involved, we’d love to meet you! Join us for our monthly social tonight from 5–7 PM at Puerta Vallarta. It’s a great chance to connect, ask questions, and see what we’re all about—no pressure, just good conversation.

Last week our Kiwanis Club had the privilege of partnering with the Rapid City Area Schools McKinney-Vento program for our favorite signature project- helping local kids start the season with brand new shoes and socks.

Thanks to the generosity of the Gwendolyn Stearns Foundation, more than 80 children’s and young people experiencing housing insecurity were able to pick out new shoes that fit and help them feel confident at school and in every day life.

We are also grateful for the helping hands from the Aktion Club from Black Hills Works, whose members purchased socks to hand out and volunteered their time to make the event welcoming and fun.

It’s amazing what can happen when our community comes together to support young people. Thank you to everyone that helped make this project possible!

We appreciate the support of everyone who helped make our first Aktion Club event a triumph. Our bake sale on Saturday, which aimed to raise funds for socks to accompany our shoe project, drew enthusiastic support. Sweet news!

Our new Aktion Club is hosting a bake sale TOMORROW (Saturday, November 8th) at the Uptown Mall from 10 am - 2 pm (or until all the goodies are gone)!

Stop by to grab some delicious treats and support a great cause! All proceeds are free will donation and will go towards purchasing socks for Rapid City area students in need, to coincide with our shoe project.

At our last shoe giveaway, we were able to provide over 100 pairs of shoes to local students – and with your help, will make sure they have warm socks to go with them! 💙

The Aktion Club, part of the Kiwanis Club of the Black Hills Greater Rapid City area, is proud to partner with Black Hills Works to create opportunities for community involvement in service.

Fostering a brighter future, the Kiwanis Club of the Black Hills, Greater Rapid City, actively supports the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act.

Through our recent partnership with Thrivent Financial Advisors, we successfully collected over 400 pairs of socks, providing a vital layer of support for students navigating housing challenges. By combining new shoes with fresh socks, we aim to boost confidence and create a sense of possibility.

We're thrilled to have had such a strong showing at our spaghetti fundraiser, which has enabled us to move forward with establishing an Aktion Club. This Kiwanis group will offer adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities the opportunity to engage, grow, and make a difference, and we were delighted to have participants from Black Hills Works join us to help launch this effort.
