Class B Sasquatch Encounter Report — Southern Oregon, July 18–19, 2026. An interesting report from a listener from Oregon.

The encounter occurred in the Cascade Mountains of far southern Oregon, approximately 23 miles due east of Medford, near Howard Prairie and Hyatt Lakes, on July 18–19, 2026. Several people experienced a series of behaviors commonly associated with Bigfoot/Sasquatch, which, taken together, amount to what I would characterize as a Class B encounter.

We were attending a Christian mountain camp that our church rents for one weekend each year. This was our fourth consecutive year at this location, with approximately 120 people attending the three-day, two-night campout.

People stayed throughout the expansive camp property in campers, tents, and teepees. Although the camp is remote and surrounded by BLM land and the Rogue River National Forest, I had never seriously considered the possibility that we might experience a Sasquatch encounter there. What happened over the course of the weekend changed that perspective.

I am a 51-year-old man who has been intrigued by the folklore surrounding Bigfoot for most of my life. I have enjoyed movies, documentaries, and podcasts on the subject, including Sasquatch Chronicles.

I grew up in western Montana as the son of a logger, and my father and I frequently discussed the possibility that a large, undiscovered North American primate might actually exist.

Today, my 23-year-old adult son and I spend considerable time hiking and backpacking throughout southern Oregon, northern California, and western Montana. Over the years, we have conducted several informal “Sasquatch hunts” for fun while camping or backpacking.
