Who first encouraged you in your faith?

Many vocations begin with a simple invitation. A parent, pastor, teacher, coach, or parishioner sees something in a young man and encourages him to take the next step.

If you know a high school-age young man who is faithful, generous, prayerful, or open to God's will, consider inviting him to attend our Come and See Weekend at Immaculate Heart of Mary Seminary.

You don't need to know whether he is called to the priesthood. Sometimes the best first step is simply an opportunity to learn more.

Have you ever wondered what seminary life is like?

Join us for the Come and See Weekend at Immaculate Heart of Mary Seminary in Winona, Minnesota, November 13-16. This opportunity is open to high school-age men who want to learn more about the priesthood and experience seminary life firsthand.

During the weekend, participants will:
• Pray and attend Mass with seminarians
• Sit in on college classes
• Experience daily seminary life
• Meet and spend time with seminarians

Come and see what life at the seminary is really like.

🎉 Happy Deacon Sunday!

Today we give thanks for the Pearmanent Deacons who faithfully serve our parish and the Church.

Deacons answer a unique call to ministry through their service to God's people. They proclaim the Gospel, preach, baptize, witness marriages, bring Holy Communion to those who cannot attend Mass, visit the sick, minister to families, and support the work of our parish in so many ways.

We are especially grateful for their generous hearts, their commitment to Christ, and their witness of humble service.

Please join us today in thanking our Permanent Deacons and keeping them, their wives, and their families in your prayers.

🙏 Thank you for your "yes" to God.
🙏 Thank you for your service to the Church.
🙏 Thank you for helping us encounter Christ.

May God bless our deacons abundantly as they continue their ministry among us.

Today, as participants gather for the 2026 Bishop's Hunt for Seminarians, we invite everyone across the Diocese of Rapid City to join in a different kind of hunt.

Even if you aren't in the field today, you can help us "hunt" for future priests through prayer.

We currently have five seminarians and one man in formal discernment, and we are grateful for each of them. Yet the need for holy and faithful men to discern God's-call continues. Today, we ask you to pray that more young men will hear and courageously answer God's call to the priesthood.

📣 Deacon Sunday is Coming!

On October 11, we celebrate Deacon Sunday, a special day to honor and thank the Permanent Deacons who have generously said "yes" to serving Christ and His Church.

Our deacons faithfully proclaim the Gospel, assist at the altar, baptize, witness marriages, visit the sick, teach the faith, counsel parishioners, and serve our parish community in countless ways. Their ministry is a beautiful witness to servant leadership and God's love.

As we prepare for Deacon Sunday, we invite you to consider ways to show your appreciation:

💌 Send a card, text, or note of encouragement
🙏 Offer prayers for our deacons and their families
🎁 Consider a small gift or token of thanks
👧 Encourage children to create drawings or thank-you notes
❤️ Thank them personally for their faithful service

Let's come together to celebrate these dedicated servants of the Church and let them know how much they are appreciated.

Going Live in Two Hours! Today at 10:00 AM (MT), Dillon Johnson will be ordained to the transitional diaconate at the Altar of the Chair of St. Peter in St. Peter's Basilica, Vatican City.

Please join us in prayer and tune in live as Dillon and seventeen fellow seminarians from the Pontifical North American College receive this important ministry in the Church.

Dillon Johnson's Ordination to the Diaconate

Tomorrow at 10:00 AM (MT), Dillon Johnson will be ordained to the transitional diaconate in St. Peter's Basilica in Rome.

This beautiful celebration will gather seminarians from the Pontifical North American College, the American seminary in Rome, which has been forming priests for the Church since 1859.

We invite you to join Catholics around the world in praying for Dillon as he takes this significant step toward priesthood.
