The Western Legacy Foundation continues to support annual higher education, technical training scholarships and community grants. The Black Hills Stock Show Foundation was established in 1993 to administer youth scholarships and grant programs to benefit communities in our region and organizations that support the agriculture industry and Black Hills Stock Show & Rodeo. The regions that our organi

zation touches have grown and it’s time to move forward letting people know what we do to preserve our western way of life. It’s the same organization, just a new name that will continue to give us new opportunities that sets us apart to continue to fulfill our mission. Thank you to all of our members and supporters who have helped continue to grow the organization, ware looking forward to 2022.

It is with heartfelt sadness that we share the passing of our longtime Western Legacy Foundation board member, Terry Taylor.

For more than 25 years, Terry faithfully served the Foundation in many leadership roles, most recently as Board Secretary. He was a driving force behind our Scholarship Committee and took great pride in helping recognize and support deserving students each year.

Terry’s dedication, leadership, and passion for our mission have left an enduring impact on the Foundation and the countless lives he touched. His legacy will continue to inspire us for years to come.

Hey Folks it’s time for The Annual Milo Rypkema Memorial “Cowboy Classic”Golf Tournament.
Sunday, July 19, 2026
Elks Golf Course- Rapid City
The Foundation is asking for your support in two ways
1- Be a hole sponsor and get a sign with your company name placed at one of the holes. Two tickets to the Extreme Bulls at the Stock show.
2- Get a 4 person team together and play in the tournament. It includes green fees,cart and a steak dinner afterwards.
This is a fundraiser for our scholarship program and other programs in the community.
