What does alignment really mean?

In the Alexander Technique, alignment isn’t about sitting or standing perfectly. It’s about improving the relationship between your head, neck, and back so your body can function with greater ease and efficiency.

By becoming aware of habitual patterns of tension and learning to respond differently, you can move more freely, breathe more easily, and experience greater comfort in everyday activities. The result is a more balanced, coordinated way of moving through life.

The little things add up…

A movement repeated dozens of times a day can have a greater impact than we realize. By bringing the water bottle to you instead of leaning down, or tipping your head back, you allow your neck and spine to stay in a more natural relationship.

The Alexander Technique invites us to explore these everyday moments and discover how greater ease can be found in the activities we do all the time.

✨ Living in Alignment ✨

Sometimes the smallest adjustments can make the biggest difference in how we move, feel, and function throughout the day.

This simple Alexander Technique tip can help reduce strain and support a more coordinated, comfortable way of moving:

When bending to pick something up, don’t hurt yourself or throw out your back by folding at the waist…
Instead, fold at the hip joint, and have a long line running from your hips to the top of your head!
It feels so much better! And it’s so much safer for your back!

Small changes. Better movement. Greater ease.
