Last week, the AAF Black Hills partnered with Black Hills State University for our annual senior portfolio critique. It's always amazing to see the work being done by the talented students we have right in our own backyard!

Seven volunteers from the AAF met with students to share helpful insights and critique their work, helping them prepare for their careers in the marketing industry.

Thank you to all the students who participated for sharing your work with us, and thank you to those who volunteered their time to help our students grow. We look forward to seeing what is to come from these talented young designers, photographers, and marketers as they start their professional journeys!

How does culture affect typography? Well, in our program on April 14, we'll explore just that! In this presentation, Nikki Villagomez will use typographic images taken throughout her travels alongside photos from Rapid City (manhole covers, neon signs, ghost signs, hand lettering, historic signs, etc.) in a side-by-side exploration that discusses the comparisons (and contrasts) in type choices.
