COUP Council To retain Lakota culture and build our collective power to bring justice and healing in the heart of Oceti Sakowin territory.

We have been organizing in the Mni Luzahan since 2018. We count coup on these systems 🪶 🏹 🐴 We are a brand new initiative currently run by volunteers. Our parent organization is Rapid City Community Conversations . Please come to one of our meetings and see how you can support our work! Our mission is to make Rapid City a safe, inclusive, and equitable place for everyone (reg

ardless of race, class, ability, gender, sexual orientation or religion). We dream of a community where discrimination is not tolerated and carries consequences. We hope to join with other community organizations and businesses in proactively making our community safer and more welcoming for all. We are planning a training of advocates and hope to support the documentation and challenge of discriminatory behaviors and practices.

The public comment period closes TODAY, August 21 at 4:30 PM CST.
Pipestone is not simply a place on a map or a route for industry. It is a sacred place with deep cultural, spiritual, and ceremonial significance to Dakota people and Indigenous Nations across Turtle Island.
We are asking our relatives, allies, and community members to submit a public comment today and demand NO PIPELINE.

❓Did you know that nearly half (49%) of South Dakota's nursing home residents are enrolled in Medicaid? This provides essential coverage for elderly or disabled people who can't remain in their homes.

📌This fall, the ballot measure Amendment I could undermine this coverage for elderly and disabled South Dakotans.

📌South Dakotans approved Medicaid Expansion in 2022. Amendment I would automatically end Expansion if the federal match falls below 90%, leaving far fewer options for people faced with these tough decisions.
