What a wonderful surprise for the last day of the bank's 15th annual diaper drive. Our friends from the Optimists and Kiwanis Clubs just donated 3,320 diapers!!! We are overwhelmed with gratitude for helping us provide diapers to Bella Pregnancy Center and Cornerstone Rescue Mission.

☀️ Cooling Center Open During Extreme Heat

With temperatures expected to reach the 100s over the coming days, Cornerstone Rescue Mission will be serving as a cooling center to help keep our community safe.

We will be open as a cooling center:
🧊 Friday, July 10 – Tuesday, July 14

If you'd like to help, we are currently accepting donations of:
💧 Bottled water
🥤 Electrolyte drinks (such as Gatorade, Propel, etc.)
🧃 Electrolyte drink mix packets (to add to bottled water)
🧊 Popsicles, Icee Pops, and other frozen treats
🍉 Watermelons and other refreshing fruit

Your generosity helps provide relief to those seeking shelter from the extreme heat.

The giving continues! Last night we presented Cornerstone Rescue Mission with a $8,750 donation in partnership with the Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines match fund. What a deserving organization that helps those with immediate needs for shelter and meals.

Representatives from Pennington County Human Services, Journey On, Wambli Ska Okolakiciye -Woyatan Church, Rapid City Fire Department Mobile Medic, Rapid City Police Department, Pennington County Sheriff's Office Care Campus, and the Cornerstone Rescue Mission have been collaborating over the past month to develop a unified plan to support the unhoused population during the winter months.

These discussions have focused on sharing vital information, coordinating resources, and ensuring individuals are informed about and connected to available services. By engaging in proactive conversations before severe weather sets in, the group aims to address potential challenges collaboratively, reducing conflicts and inefficiencies that have arisen in previous years.

During times of especially cold weather, local law enforcement, EMS staff, street-level outreach teams, and park rangers consistently patrol the Rapid City bike path and other common areas of outdoor congregation to ensure everyone has a warm place to seek respite from the cold. If a member of the public encounters someone requiring assistance during the winter weather, they are advised to contact public safety dispatch at 605-394-4131 so that timely and appropriate support can be provided to those in need.
