The Custer County Conservation District is sponsoring the following event:
Qury Fire Educational Bus Tour – Friday, April 17
Join local fire professionals for a free guided bus tour of areas impacted by the Qury Fire. This educational tour will highlight how Firewise and other mitigation actions taken before the fire helped protect homes and structures when the fire moved through the area. Professionals from South Dakota Wildland Fire and U.S. Forest Service will provide information on fire ecology, fire behavior, and steps landowners can take to reduce wildfire risks. Tour will occur on Friday, April 17, bus departing at 10:00 am and finishing around noon. Registration is required and space is limited.
