Some of the most meaningful change in Rapid City is happening through people who choose to serve. ❤️
We had another wonderful time packing meals at Feeding South Dakota. This is always a favorite service activity, especially for teenagers—they LOVE it! It’s a fun way to serve together while making a meaningful difference in our community.
This month, we also had the opportunity to tour two outstanding organizations and learn more about the important work they’re doing right here in Rapid City.
Heather Hoeye showed us the Children’s Home Society’s new facility, and it was inspiring to see how thoughtfully it has been designed to serve local families. Its location closer to town will make family visits and therapy more accessible, while dedicated spaces will allow staff to teach important life skills to the entire family.
At OneHeart, Kerry Lassaux gave us a wonderful, in-depth tour and shared more about the organization’s work. One feature that especially touched me was the Wall of Fame—a chalk wall where graduates have written about their experiences at OneHeart. Reading their words was a powerful reminder of the lives being changed through this program.
These organizations show what’s possible when a community comes together with compassion and purpose. Whether you volunteer, donate, share their mission, or simply learn more, there is a place for each of us to help make Rapid City stronger. Let’s keep showing up, serving together, and building a community where every family has the support they need! ❤️
